3 way crossover question

Ok so Ive never owned a active crossover and now I need one. I was looking at the kicker 03KX3 which i heard great reviews about. But why is there only a front and rear input, and front,rear, and sub output. I have 1 10" L7 Kicker that i am pushing. So does this mean that i hook up the front and rear input and not use the sub output from the headunit? Or should I buy something like a Boss BX35 which has 3 input and 3 output? Im really confused about this.....

Reason for the 2 in 3 out is because the xover is splitting the signal, you are getting the low pass(80hz and lower) signal sent to your sub output and everything else(80hz and up) sent to your front and rear outputs.
