2ohm or 4ohm?

I have a 12" Alpine SWR-1242D running off a v12 amp with the gain on the lowest setting. The front and rears are both running off a Pioneer headunit.

The sub is running at 2ohm. What difference would it make if I ran the sub at 4ohm?

I ask because i'm constantly having to turn the bass up and down when listening to different types of music.

Apart from volume what other difference would it make to the sub?

thanks

ohms = electrical resistance... that has nuthing 2 do with it. when the song is recordded it has a volume, stop using bootleg shit with diffrent volumes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Some alpine v12's put out more pwr at 2 ohm (12 and 14 v) than they do at 4 ohms.. Reconfiguring your sub to run at 4 ohms "might" reduce the amount of pwr going to your sub. The only benefit i can really think of is that the V12 series will run cooler at 4 ohms.
