2nd battery question.

Hello all, I have never ran a second battery before; however, my lights are starting to dim on this new system and I still have plans to throw in a new amp for my comps. So I am going to put in a second battery.

Now my question is, Do I have to have two runs of wire from the front batt two the second batt, or can I just ground the second batt off in my trunk?

Yes, you can ground the second battery in the trunk. Just make sure its a good solid ground. How much power are you running?

I grounded mine to the trunk, but I believe on the Kinetik website, they have the ground going back to the battery up front.

make sure they are both grounded to solid metal and you shouldn't need to run back to the front.

Ok, Thanks for all your inputs. Also, is it possible for me to ground it at the same location as my amp?

Also, im running around 500 rms(to whoever asked.)and I plan on putting in another fuse block between the second batt and my amp.

dont do it in the EXACT spot as the amp it has a chance to create ground loops..

Ground your rear battery where your amp is grounded, and ground your amp to the rear battery instead of where it is now.
