My friend and I discussed the trunk layout quite a bit this evening. We had totally different ideas about how this project should look, but I think we came to a compromise (the plan could easily change within the next 4 weeks).

Sub forward, offset so porting through the rear armrest will be possible. False wall to completely conceal the enclosure from the rear. Three tier amp rack constructed of square tubing and mdf will be visible in the trunk. Leaving the rack exposed for ease of use. It'll be finished with dove grey leather or vinyl and slate paint.

Added the third shelf in case he wants to upgrade in the future or bi-amp his components.

Small update:

I purchased 3 sheets of .75" mdf, several 2x4's, some glue and a $hit ton of screws today. I'll be ordering the DC Level 4 15" and Kinetik HC2400 within the next 2 or 3 days as well. That'll take care of all of the equipment and my friend will be home on next tuesday. I should be able to make the big push and get this project finished towards the end of next week. I've also come up with what I think will be the final plan for the trunk, and it doesn't involve the amp rack that I drew up earlier. I hope you guys will like my design.

I know this has taken forever and lots of equipment changes have been made, but that's what happens when you jump into a rebuild with no definitive plan. Let this be a lesson to those of you who've never done this type of work before. My friend's vehicle has been without beat for a long time, and it could've been easily avoided by doing a little planning...
