Alpine CDA-9830; Does time alignment.

eDesign NINe.4; Four channels

Adire SF-7; Lost the specs

[need tweeters / tiny horns]

[maybe need midrange]

[need active crossover]

Any recommendations?

Should I just use the processing in the HU and 9.4?

- bandpass the midbass,

- [maybe] bandpass the midrange,

- highpass the tweets.

** I don't know what the SF-7's will play up to, because Adire took down the page. And didn't reply to the mail I sent two weeks ago. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Any info on that would be great; I bought them as a midbass.

I took a long look at the dash yesterday; I think I may be able to put some minibodies in the stock tweet locations. I'll snap a picture tonight.

Some processing opinions?

Unless your stock tweeter location is underneath the dash......I doubt that'll work.

What all processing does your HU have in terms of xovers?

Also, with a single 4 channel amplifier you don't have enough channels of amplification to do a 3-way active frontstage. You could either build a passive for the midrange/tweeter and run each pair off of a single channel, or purchase a 4" component set and them on the front two channels. Then actively bandpass the midbass drivers on the rear two channels.

Or you could simply go for a 2-way frontstage assuming those Adire mids play high enough.

Also, what's your budget?

From the digging I've done (search function FTW!), they should be good up to atleast 1.8khz-2khz. Possibly higher, depending on some things.

I'd look for a tweeter that's good down to atleast 2khz probably, just to be safe (assuming you are going 2-way).

The Dayton RS tweeter would be great for you. Good down to ~1.6khz.

Here are the locations; Look about an inch below the rearview mirror, in the picture.

I think I could wedge some minibodies in without much issue.

If the SF-7 will play to 1.8k, and horns will come down that low; Maybe I could get away with a 2-way afterall.

Budget for processing is up to $200.

Adire's webpage, when it was up, said they can play up to 3-4kHz with ease.

Thanks guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I checked archive.org for a snapshot of the page but it wasn't up long enough to be captured.

You do not want horns pointed directly at your head. That is just simply a bad location for them all the way around. I could go on for a couple paragraphs explaining why.....but I don't feel like it right now //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif Just know that that's not a good location.

You should be able to pick up decent processors for close to that.

Look into the Coustic XM6 for an active xover.

I'm selling a Coustic XM7 if you want a 3way front + sub.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Also got a pair EQTs:naughty:

That's a great combination of equipment if you have the //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/greedy.gif.5a53e6246569d7ab79867170f3b06629.gif for it Cybe.

Thanks for the tip, squeak. I did some homework, and ordered 'em up.

Still need tweets that'll get low; Bummer about the horns.

Wish I would've dropped the extra hundred for a nicer headunit.
