1k Watts too much for 15" RL-p?

I'm getting a 15" RL-p to replace my brahma 12, which should come in next week //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif . I also bought an Arc Audio 1500-XXK to power the RL-p, and it puts out 1000 watts @ 2 ohms bridged. I was wondering if 1K watts to the RL-p daily is a little too much for the sub. Those with RL-p's, how much are you guys pushing your subs with?

Any insight is cool //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I am pushing my rl-p 12 with 1200 RMS off a PA1800DB with the gain low daily and have no problems with it, it takes it like a champ and sounds good, been running it like this for about a month, the web site says it can take 300-1200 I believe, I'm sure it will consume your 1000 watts with no problems, just keep your gain low

ah that's comforting to hear. thanks fellas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

reason i ask is that i read on another forum that its rms rating is 'only' around 500 or so. so i wanted to ask to be on the safe side.

Just like alot of pepople on the boards im running a rl-p 15 off an ED 9.1 @2ohms which is like 800watts.i run that daily w/ no probs at all. that thing wangs hard but now i need to get some good midbass to keep up with all the boom.

why are some people saying that the sub can take the extra power. But then they say they turn the gains down. doesnt that mean that the sub actually isnt getting that much extra wattage?

I think so it will send a clean not clipped signal to the sub. Could be wrong though.
