War Eagle!!!
okay today i was showing my friend my stereo, i was listening on 20/40 and it was okay, then i put it on 26 and turned the amp up a lil, because it was hardly moving, and it wasnt right(i really dont know but my SX moved so much more than my XXX, it was barely moving) and i walked back there and all of a sudden a really loud pop and it quit, i run up front and turned it down and it started playing again on like 3/40, it took like a couple secs for it to turn back on,, i tried it again at 17/40 and after a couple secs it poped again and came back on, i didnt try it anymore and went home, now what could of caused this? today i hooked up my front speakers amp, i ran power from the distro block for my 1ga wire, and grounded it the same place and ran my new RCAs from my HU, i had to take it out, i just pulled it out and hooked the other RCAs up, and put it back in , and everything works, it didnt pop then, i listened i listened to it on 20

i also noticed my remote wire looked like it was kinda cut like my seat bracket closed down on it when i put the seat down, now would it make a loud pop like that if the remote wire was vibrating, or the RCAs are messed up,

** it wont blow the sub will it?**

what mite be some other options? is the amp messed up? i havnt touched the wires on the sub, but it scared the crap out of me today i thought it was blown

Please help

i think this is the same thing mine is doing, but it does it in middle of songs, its a loud pop then it plays fine, so isnt there a pop iliminator?

another reason i believe this is why, is because it takes a couple secs for the sub to come on when i turn the cd player and and when it did the pop it took a couple secs for the sub to come back

Im thinking that it is a voice coil short. Basicly meaning that the voice coil is still in tact but just enough to cause the amp to short out and to go into protect mode.

Could be a bad/lose connection (like CJ said)

i second all the peoples whos votes are with wireing problems. patch up that remote wire and recheck every connection you have an make sure they are solid, along with a solid ground. lots of possiblities but definitly sounds electrical
