So I decided to make a build log and log all the new things that happen to my vehicle and hopefully get plenty of advice and learn more and more about car audio.
To preface, I live in a small town in western Montana. I go to college full time and also work full time, So I can guarantee I will update this all the time. The purpose of this build log is more for myself to see where I've come from and motivate me to do what I can with my resources available.
Additionally, I'm one of those people who gets very devoted to a hobby then hits a wall and changes hobbies and tries to sell everything after spending boat loads of money, and I've just decided I really wanna keep up with car audio and hope eventually I might be able to compete and view that side of the community but currently with where I live that's not easy.
Anyway without further ado lets get on to my shitbox
Picked it up from some crazy blonde lady in moon boots carrying a chihuahua in her purse and let me tell you the car was absolutely disgusting... But it only has 127k miles and is easy to play around with, oh and cheap can't forget about cheap.
So I sold my blazer that go rear ended by a sheriff, and didn't really wanna take the HU out so I decided to search caco and got ahold of a pioneer DEH 9400bt its a nice head unit, have good pre outs doesn't distort at max volume, overal nice score for 60$ to my
Door. And 1st gen explorers don't need dash kits :3
So i a lot of gear sitting around from the rebuild that was going to happen to the blazer so I used the two DSS ethos 15s
Got a box from @mylows10 in a trade
It needed some work I sanded it up and doctored any cracks etc, but every time I went to paint it I got impatient so it looked like **** also was a little small.
Also before throwing the ethos in I put in some c2 threatcon 2s at 1 ohm because I though I might be able to get away with selling the ethos pair, but seeing as shipping was crazy that never happened but I grabbed the c2's from @CSCStang and for what they are they sounded amazing.
Oh yeah I also installed a new alternator! Got a js 270 amp alternator! Even though I didn't wanna buy one cause I felt all ****** about my blazer getting demolish but I was able to sell its alt so ha!
Oh for amps in running a vfl 175.1 for the subs
And currently for my fronstage.... A Rockville 2 channel!
And for fronts rage I'm just running a pair of alpine type s 5x7s
So goals currently is new box whole new frontstage and also to continue getting good deals on gear! Will update once I dig up more pics and vids!
