1992 Civic Sound Deadening Job *Pics* 56k Beware

Pros: Cheap
I dont need deadener that costs 100's of dollars.
Not knockin' ya, bud. I'd use it and save myself tons of cash if it didn't exhibit dangers to my tint and the possibility of filling my car with an asphalt smell, which actually makes me very nauseous and gives me headaches for some reason.

+ 15 shippin //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
I got mine for $100 shipped. All you have to do is call. They'll work with ya. They will even sell you 1/2 a roll, just plead your case as being broke you might even get it cheaper.

No prob...I bet ramat is good stuff, I just didnt feel like spending the extra bucks on it, and plus my first deadenins job..id rather put more expensive deadener in a better car later on.(which I probably will)...+ I dont have tints etc. and im too cheap so I wouldnt even care about the smell(if I would be even picky enough to smell it.)

good for you I bet you did a good job on it as well. pics?

i wanna do some Sound Deadening on my doors and trunk too, but do you guys think its worth Deadening the car floor too??

or just the front doors and the trunk area and forget the rear doors and thee floor??

Im no expert... but I think most people just deaden their doors, and a little bit of their trunk... who knows though I guess its what kind of outcome you want to achieve, and if you plan on doing a whole bunch of your car like the floor and etc, maybe using better stuff than peel n seal would be worth it? I dunno my .02

It depends on what your trying to achieve. It will kill some road noise which is a big + for SQ. Other than the door you won't notice a big difference from deadening the floor besides the loss of the noise interference.

how much was peel n seel
also you came along way from speakers between ur headrest + seat //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

hey, at the time they made a difference in the way his shit sounded... lol

i want over all SQ, for me the reason i wanna have Deadening in the trunk is to reduce the amount of bass that someone can hear from outside of the car.

and 2nd. to reduce road noise would be nice.

I used to love pulling up at a red light with the bass turned up and have people turns their heads like "what is that LOUD noise????"

Turns out I was running crappy 12's in a small crappy box....giving them like no power...

L7! here I come!

I'd deaden the foot wells, thats were a lot of tire/road noise is present, and I'd also use some type of closed cell foam that will help absorb noise, the foam you can use across your entire floor, the deadener I'd keep to things like doors, foot wells, trunk, and possibly ceiling if you're getting any flex, otherwise the road noise can usually be taken care of with foam.

Also, I've only done my front doors so far, but the difference was insane, my VW doors are already pretty solid, but the RAAMat really helped a lot, more than I thought it would have, eventually I'll get around to doing the rest of the car, I've got about half a roll left over to work with.
