18years old living at home

I moved out when I was 17. worked some jobs that only paid $10 hr and some that paid 15 hr or more, either way I made it work. Managed to save up to buy a car and a down payment on a house.

My father took off on my mom so now im also helping her out and me and my lady are expecting our first kid in a couple weeks, so Ill be hard but not impossible. If you work hard and not waste money, you should be just fine.

Lies u were depressed because Bush left office :p j/k
At 18 your being wants independence, but you are usually not wise enough to realize just how cruel the world is. I am way more appreciative of my parents now that I'm married with a family of my own than i was when they were my caretakers. Some never appreciate their family or had a crappy family they came from. But most come from a relatively stable homelife
Lol no that's the economy that is depressed because Bush left office... not me brah //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I moved out WAY before Bush left office. We're talking like '04 up in this byatch.

Moved out when I was 19 and have not looked back since.

35 now, wife, 4 year old, 1900 sq ft home, 800 sq foot detached work shop(not a converted garage), 3 cars, and 960 acres in north western Ga...

I have worked my *** off ever since I moved out and still do to this day. I may not have a lot of cash but I have a TON of things to play with!!

Relize also that you might have to give up the little things when you make that step to have the big things in the future.. When I first got on my own I had to lose the Z28 and the crotch rocket for rent, utilities, and food. I had a busted up old honda but I had my own place. After two years I said F it and joined the Navy, 6 months after I was living in the Puerto Rico living the dream. 10 years later life is good, still difficult at times. More about leaving for many months at a time then finacially.

Man sometimes you just got to not think and just do, adapt and overcome as you learn.

An apartment. The whole thing started because my dad came home drunk and he decided he wanted to be an asshole. He told me to move out in his drunken rage and I signed my lease the next day. I moved into a 1400sqft apartment with my own garage. At the time I worked for Circuit City doing home deliveries and home theater installs. I made enough to pay for an $700 apartment on my own.
I go to look at a house tomorrow. 1600 sq ft on the first floor with 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, unfinished basement, 2 stall garage, and a fenced in back yard. At 22 thats not half bad. Just bust your ass and good things will come.
I think it depends on the area you're in. I know for $700 a month you could barely rent a bedroom in an apartment out here, not even close to being able to rent out the whole place. I see a lot of kids these days trying to move out but in my area you're looking at $1200 minimum for a small apartment. I feel bad for them.

I am 20 and have been renting a small house with my girlfriend for about 6 months now. Before that we lived at her parents place, and my moms before that. We make decent money(both make $50k a year...) but we still sometimes struggle to come up with bills on time. It doesnt help that I spend about $200 a week on junk I dont need(car audio, stuff for my cars, fast food, junk food, video games, PC stuff, etc...) Lol. We have about $1600 a month in bills between loans, car payment, insurance, rent, gas, electric, tv, internet, and that doesnt include the other few hundred we spend on food and other necessities.

Either way, I am VERY happy we are on our own, and it is nice having privacy, BUT being an adult ***** lol. We are planning on moving back in with my grandma who isnt doing too good so that will help us out and help her at the same time. There ya go, theres my life story lol

$1600 thats it.. Thats not even my mortage! You want to go back to living with family with $50K a year. Good luck with that, it sounds like you and your girl have some growing up to do

Yeah, like I said I waste my money on stupid stuff. Also, we can make it on our own, we just sometimes either miss or forget about bills. This is both of our first times living on our own, so it takes some getting used to. We probably spend about $2200 a month on just things we need/bills. Also, we are not moving in with my grandmother because we cant handle the bills. We are moving in for lots more reasons. 1. MUCH bigger/nicer house, with full heated basement, decent yard for our newfoundland(our yard now is about 15ft by 20ft...) 2 stall garage, etc... 2. My uncle currently lives there with her but he is moving out and no one thinks she should be living alone(alzheimers...) but no one thinks she is bad enough to put her in a home. 3. It would cut out about 150 miles a week driving back and forth to work. 4. She doesnt have idiot neighbors like we have now XD
