180w for 12" sub

Hey, this is my setup right now i have a fusion amp thats 180wx1 RMS bridged to a 12" kingwood POS subwoofer. Goes quite well but soon would like to upgrade to a better quality sub like a good kenwood 12" but will a 400w RMS sub sound good if its getting 180w of power? also how do i tell if its running at 2 or 4 OHMS? thankss

180rms will work for any sub, don't expect it to be loud though. Most people with low power tend to push the amps to get louder, only to clip and nothing good comes out of that.

The Memphis M class sub in my fiancee's Tribute sounds pretty good with 200 rated RMS watts going to it from an Orion HCCA used in conjunction with a custom Servo Drive.

The only problem I see with the OP's setup is that Fusion tends to lie about their power rating.... More than Kenwood. At least that is what I was told by a dealer who sells both products.
