MSRP on subs.

I fail.
I know they say that, "if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it," but when trying to decide what sub to go with, it would be nice to know what kind of money we are talking about. Only about half of the companies referenced most often on here list an MSRP. People ask about "bang for the buck" and I have no idea how much bang or buck the suggestions are talking about.

It's also confusing when comparing sub models. I really can't tell which model IA or AQ or whatever sub is comparable to any other company.

Let's use the DD2510 as a reference because I know how much that sub is and that it is a quality piece. Can you please give me some comparable models and prices?

Thanks.

if you want some straight up prices from dc, just email rusty and he'll get back to you asap.

Im not sure what line would compare with the 2510 from dc, but i would say the level 3 would be close, or maybe even the level 4.

The AQ HDC's are almost equivalent to the DD 3500 series and higher end than the DD 2500's, kind of in between.

And the SDC2.5's are roughly equivalent to the DD 1500 series.

Your dealing with smaller companies here not mainstream corporations. They want you to call becouse depending on who you are what and how much your buying is going to reflect the price your going to pay.

IM willing to help you find a descent set of subs in your price bracket. I need some info though.

How much money are you wanting to spend?

What size of sub and how many are you wanting to run?

How much rms are you going to be running?

What kind of sound are you looking for out of your system? SPL, SQ, or SQL?

i really dont agree with that statement...

the reason they dont give out pricing is because they do have dealers, and wouldnt want to step on the dealers toes.

Correct. If the manufacturer in question has a dealer network, the manufacturer will either not tell you pricing at all, or simply refer to advertised msrp. And, MSRP is many times just an artificially high number on purpose, so their dealers can sell the product for 80-90% of msrp, still making a large margin of profit, and be able to claim they are giving you a discount. Its a well used ploy in this industry/hobby.

While I do agree with that statement "some" of the online only companies seem to have a floating price policy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

I saw this mentioned a while back about DC. Some guy said he emailed Rusty twice, and both times he got different prices.
