found a local guy selling a pair of type Rs for 190 i offered 150 he said he will take no less than 175. so what you guys think? also any way to test the subs with out actully hooking it up to an amp? i see people using a DMM but don't know what setting they have it on and what exactly there checking. i don't know i just dont want to buy blown subs.

test resistance on each coil independently....look for their rated resistance(ohm load)

ya i talked him down to 160. they look brand new. he used them for less than a month.

Get a dmm and test them if you want them. Turn it to the ohms reading (looks like a little horseshoe) and take a reading. If its only off by .1 or so its fine.

lol ya they guy told me hes had allot of calls. he also live 5 mins from my house so it works out good.
