15s facing the cabin

Teammate and I built a MWSPL setup for his 2011 Impala, 2 15" Tantrics on a SAZ-3500, best number we've got out of it is a 150.5 on around 1800 watts. I believe it likes 47-48hz. It's been the loudest with woofers/port forward and sealed off from trunk.
Which tantrics are they?

 
HDD'sI have a gut-feeling with that power, he might be a tad louder on the HD's though, but he bought them before I knew about it, lol

Yah - but he competes in a power clamped class, so 2000 watts is all he can 'use' for his burp run.

On a music run - it would be VERY nice... he's gotta throw some money at the electrical system first though...

 
sorry guys I am new and don't know how to start a thread or find what I am looking for. I need to know how to measure my trunks width height and depth and do I measure closer to the seats were there is less width or do I measure close to the bumper where there is more? I just got a hdc3 12 and plan on putting it in a 2012 charger. any help would be appreciated.

Box is a tad undersized (about 5 cubes), and the biggest slot port we could fit between the woofers - (and still be able to slide the box in/out of the trunk).

Will be rebuilding it soon (probably 'in' the vehicle to get a bit more volume) and tune a bit lower.

It does a pretty consistent 149.5 at about 1700 watts, but on a cool evening, with a couple guys pressing both rear doors and his LC-1 dialed in a bit more on power, he's done the 150+ at 2 shows now... I believe the amp is clipping a bit at that 1800 though (can't recall his impedance rise at the moment) because the power starts getting really erratic if we turn it up anymore than that. On a clean 2k, I think he'll be knocking on 151. Hopefully a tiny gain from adjusting his tuning as well, might put him in the low to mid 151's. We're still not up to the efficiency Anton has shown on his two 12's setup though. This boat-of-a-car is a pain... Huge trunk - but small luggage opening.

If you're not sure of what you're doing, it may be best to mock something up with some cardboard. Nothing worse than building a box that "fits" but won't go through the hole and into place.

I think you might underestimate how hard it is to gain from 149. Still though, a little here and a little there....
