12" Sub Match

I have a 12" 3/4" Thick 1cu ft Sub Box in my trunk paired with a 500w @ 4 ohm Jensen Amplifier. I have a 12" Lightning Audio Bolt in there right now that I got just to introduce myself to car audio. I love it but it sadly doesn't sound too pretty. It isn't loud either. :/ I just got 250$ that I can spend and I was wondering what would be a good step up to replace that one with? I really love the look of almost everything RE makes and can't seem to find a bad review. I was thinking of calling them to see what a simple RE 12" would set me back. Too bad I didn't have this money when the RE Group buy was going on... lol. Anyhow I was just wondering about some thoughts on some good Moderate level 12" Subs that I could replace it with. I don't need the loudest or the best sounding but would like a step up from the LA Bolt.

How are your enclosure building skills? That would be the cheapest and (if you have the tools, skills, and time) easiest thing to improve the output. If that doesn't help, at least you have a better enclosure than what you have now to plug your new driver into.

We built this enclosure. It's 3/4" MDF 12" Sub Hole. Sealed. 1 Cu inside. I just didn't want to go through building another one if I could get another 12" for it. We could build another one if it needed to be bigger for a subwoofer you guys might suggest but this is the one we have currently.
