10's or 8's...worried about low end.

DD'S are some of the loudest subs on the market cuz. Your average 8 ain't going to give you that kinda bass. **** I mean think in real terms man.
Why's that? Granted, it *MAY* be easier to get better spl #'s out of a 15, just because of the huge difference in square inches, but an 8 thats designated as a "subwoofer" will still get plenty low and loud. (There are 8's designed more as midbass speakers if I recall correctly, those might would not hit as low? Not positive on that, someone else will have to confirm)

It should be against the law to even consider a 8 inch speaker a subwoofer anyway.
Stop you're making SC look bad. I don't know about 8s but some people say the same thing about 10s not having low-end. My DD 9510G pulsates my car on 30-36 hz notes. Like everyone has said, how a sub plays is all about the install.

You can't get any low-end out of 8's. There's just not enough surface area to move the air it requires for low-end bass. Get you two of the the jl audio W1V2'S 10 inch subs. They will do the job. They are shallow mount also only 4.4 inches of depth required.
You sir are an idiot, and should be banned. :*******:2 8"s, Directed 1500, ported to 34hz 139.6 at the dash leagal sealed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

A subwoofer is just like a engine. If you want more horsepower you need a bigger bore or a longer stroke. It's the same thing with a subwoofer. You either have to have more Surface area or more xmax.

Just stop. Your not helping your case. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

I've owned dd1508's, SS rli-8's, and re8's...all 3 got low pretty well even the 1508's ported at 37. You just have to set your expectations right, don't expect an 8 to have the same output as a similar quality 15 unless you run a ton of 8's...which is quite fun //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Personally I think it's stupid to even waste the time on 8 inch subs anyway. Unless you have a regular cab truck and thats all you can fit behind the seats.
Your posts are very informative...People should definately listen to you, you appear to have it all figured out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Notice that of all the people posting right now only one is bashing the 8's?? I went from a fifteen down to 4 RE8's and let me tell you, the RE's are killing it. It's all in the install mang.
