10's or 8's...worried about low end.

So, whats the verdict on 8" subs? Im going to have to get rid of my Jeep with 2 type r's ported to 32hz, and am inheriting a Dakota Quad Cab. Im thinking 2 shallow 10's or possible 4 8's, all of which will be sealed. I know im going to be missing the low-end i have now, but which setup would be better. I really like the idea of 4 8's, but im not sure that the 8's would have the low end like the 10's would, which still probably wouldnt compare to what i have now. I'm not looking to go full out spl, but sql would be nice, with a decent low end. Any suggestions?

You can't get any low-end out of 8's. There's just not enough surface area to move the air it requires for low-end bass. Get you two of the the jl audio W1V2'S 10 inch subs. They will do the job. They are shallow mount also only 4.4 inches of depth required.

please please please.... tell me your just joking

Four 8's will be pretty loud. You just won't get low-end bass. 8's are basically midbass speakers.

Thats the funniest thing i have ever heared...... Its all about the install and enclosure, i have done installs w/ a single 8 that wreck the lows.

4 8s have a cone area roughly similar to 2 12s, so no problems with low-end. Most of it is in the install anyway. Go with the 8s. They're easier to fit in a truck, and a set of 4 should give you better performance than two shallow-mount 10s.

Yeah if you buy a jl W7 you will get low-end. But just your average 8's ain't going to do much. I have owned 8's, 10's, 12's. I know the difference in the low-end the three will produce.
