10" xbl sub for $115

imo... a type R would prolly get louder, while the SDX10 would sound alot better while losing some output
cool thanks. How can you tell that though? Can you see this just looking at the specs? I'm just wondering so I can quit asking "which is better"

The SDX10 is brand new. Pre-order just started today and no information had been publically shared yet.
The SDX10 differs in many ways from Exodus Audio's DPL-10. As someone mentioned earlier, the motor is much smaller; this is because they are designed for two different applications. The DPL-10 is designed for large sealed, infinite baffle, and dipole alignments...it is intended to be a much higher Q driver than the SDX10.

Great value at $115 shipped.
I would have swore the last time I looked at the 15 that they mentioned a 10 on there as well.

Any T/S yet, or recommended enclosures?

I'm pretty tempted here, I've wanted an Xbl driver to use for a minute since I heard the Koda's.

I don't remember seeing a 10 mentioned in the past, but Bob has been talking about building a SDX12 for a while now.

Target T/S params are on the creative sound site, as well as recommended enclosures. Seems like a hellova sub for $120Cdn shipped.

It will be curious to see how the 10 performs. I've been quite impressed with the SDX15 I'm using for HT.

Are these DVC or SVC, 4ohm or 2ohm? I'm pretty ignorant on sub specs, but want to make sure it will match my Alpine T707(?) sub, which outputs 340wRMS x 1 at 4ohms (don't believe it's stable at 2 ohms, but I could be wrong)

whats that?

They are dual 2 ohm.
Thanks for the quick reply. So I should bridge my amp and wire the single woofer in series, thus presenting a 4 ohm load at 340rms bridged?

Or wire each coil independantly, which would give 170W per channel @ a 2ohm load?

Again, sorry for my ignorant questions, just wanting to make sure this woofer will work with my amp before I buy it.

whats that?
looks kinda like IB in setup. the sub setups I've seen usually have 2, 1 on each side of a tall baffle. The subs have VERY LITTLE mechanical noise, if any, to be good dipole drivers.

along with wiki, i found numerous sites on dipole setups

Bipole speakers have at least two cones, one facing the room, and one facing backwards, so half the sound is direct, and half reflects off the wall.
