10" Sub Box for a BOAT!...two questions

Question1: I'll be using 3/4" birch wood (I've heard from an installer that MDF loves water) Is there any special carpet or trunk liner that is better than the others? Black is my preferred color.

Question2: I am using one 10" JL W3 4 Ohm sub. JL advises .75 net cubic ft for sealed enclosure box. JL recommends box 18x11x10.25. My available space is 21x14x[8] Can I add Height and Width to equal .75 net and get the sound I'm looking for even though the depth is slightly lacking?

Thanks is advance!

RHYNO LINER!

It's easy to apply, very effective at keeping out water and looks freaking awesome. It costs about $30-40 for the whole kit depending on how much rhyno you need, but that's not much more than it costs to carpet it....and it's only slightly more work.

Just FYI.. I had to 12w5's in a Baja 272 Shooter and I made the boxes out of 3/4 MDF. Carpeted them to match the boat and never had a problem with them. I had them in there for 2 years. They sounded kickarse in the slip because it was covered //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rotflol.gif.b453361716769b8110ddefc85ff03cd2.gif
