06 Accord NEED ADVICE

Im wondering the same, rims or audio first now?
So what are you doing then? Are you going the rim route first or audio?
I think what the first guy said would sound great for what you are looking for. Personally me I would get 2 Image Dynamics IDMaxV3 12" Subs. They dont take up a lot of space and friggin rock! You could put one on each side of your trunk and do the amps flushed in the tire well. I would run it off a memphis belle amp. Too sweet! For Highs I would check into morels, Boston, ID, Mb Quart, Diamonds. Good luck and have fun with your new ride.

Also, dont listen to Sage, he is a complete douche rocket.

Welcome to the forum. I am also from Ohio.
wow thanks for all the responses. the reason i posted again was becuase i wasnt sure what i should do first... i mean the system i could do over a period of time.... but.... yeahhhhh you guys know how that is

i talked to my cousin n bro about it and they both said enjoy riding in your new ride first, get the system.. and enjoy your car the year it comes out you know, and put the rims on next summer when theres some people out with '07s...

so i'm leaning more and more towards the system now, unless the prices go down during christmas buying season, but everyone i've asked said they stay teh same and may even increase a few bucks during christmas season.

i'm definitely, definitely putting 20's on my ride, whether now or next summer, so i'm not really woried what sage has to say about it, and i appreicate you guys backin me up, i think it'll look real clean. i'll post up some pics of the rims i'm gettin too..

so is there a significant difference between directed/rockford fosgate and memphis or jl. i was lookin on ebay and the jl 1000/1 amps are like 550 or so, same price as the memphis and i believe the jl has some special power supply that makes it put out 1000 rms all the time to any ohm speaker...

i'm just questioning the memphis becuase the jl is in the same range, and also becuase i can get the high-power directed and rockford fosgate ams for a rediculous deal (cost at ABC Warehouse). a lil direction here would be great...

also about those IDMAX subs, my buddy told me about those a while ago and said they would be the best bang for my buck, but so many people like these RL-Ps, which is better? and 2 subs or 1? if i'm lookin at this 1000w jl or somethin like that....

btw bigbang.. that was a great idea, one sub on each side and the amps in the floor... but im a lil concerned about trunk space, i guess it just depends on the air-space requirements of those 12" IDMAX..

the other option would be the put the sub in the floor, and the amps on the side... but then the trunk would be pretty much useless

ALSO.. 6speedcoupe maybe you could help with this.. but i'm thinkin with 2 grand i'm gonna have to space things out anyways. 400 or maybe a lil less for the headunit (which btw i really like, good reccomendation busa), and 500-600 for the amp, and i dunno even how much for the subs. but then wiring, install... BOX. but mostly i'm really reallly realllllly concerned about dampening. 6speed can you help with this? degree of difficulty on dampening the trunk? and raamat right?

i'll dampen the doors when i do the components and the amp for the components later this year.

so after writing this.. definitely thinking rims next summer, and doin the headunit and substage now + dampening

so.. amps? and IDMAX vs RL-P? sizes on drivers? and dampening?

ps.. thanks for ALL the help guys, i really do appreciate it. i dunno if i can help you guys out in any way, but if theres any way feel free to send me a pm.. thanks again

Ok I will try to answer most of your questions besides the damping. I am just not very knowledgable about that. I will suggest Hushmat as that is what I usually use just becasue it is cheap and seems to do the trick. As far as the subs go, ID subs are very well known for small enclosures. I mean the ID maxs are a little bit bigger than most. If you really are worried about space issues and dont think the Max's would fit, then check into the IDq's. They are about 350rms though. So not as powerful, but sound fantastic if the right install is applied. But, since you like the hip hop/Rap then I would stick with the Max's. If you do the sides like I think you should do, it would give an awesome custom look plus keep your trunk in use. So try that route. I think if you went any of the about mentioned subs that a directed 1200d should work very nice. If you dont care about the money then the 1000/1 Jl amp would work as well. They just are pricey ya know. I think you should concentrate on a good deck, good componet set first, then worry about the substage and also dont forget about your electrical, one of the more important things in audio. I suggest getting a second battery and do the big 3 and use 0/1 wire. If you still having problems with dimming of lights or the system not seeming to hold power well, then you will need to check into a HO altenator, which depending on what you went with can be costly. Your heading down the right track. You have some good equipment listed, so hopefully you can stay in your range of 2g's. Peace

so.. amps? and IDMAX vs RL-P? sizes on drivers? and dampening?
If you can get Rockford Power line amps, they are beasts. They are massively underrated, putting out 2-3x their rated power on the multi-channel amps and around 1.5x rated power on the mono amps.

I would go for IDMAXes if you don't mind spending more, but RL-P's price is really nice. I would heavily dampen (a few layers on trunk and rear deck if you're only getting subs for now) if you're going to run two powerful subs. Use Raammat or Second Skin Damplifier. Both are great and relatively cheap.

cool, i appreciate it. i think i'll go with the rl-p's... only becuase after reading for the past 2 hours online here and other forums n such, the idmax's dont go as low, and the rl-ps i could almost get 2 for the price of 1 IDMAX. just lookin at amps now.. i'll check out the rf power line series at ABC.. or i'll get one of those JL 1000/1 amps off of ebay.. maybe 2 rl-p's? or 1? thats the question now i guess..... **** i'm going over my 2g limit so quick

You'd be very happy with one RL-P 15 especially if you can throw 1000 watts at it... Plus it would be easy to stay under 2 grand running one sub and you couldn't have to short cut by buying a cheaper front stage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif...

ordered the DEH-P880 headunit, 302$ shipped. buying boston pro's off of xoldschoolx? subs are being ordered as soon as i get home, and amp is waiting 1500 instead of 1100 memphis that was reccomended, one step up in case i need to add another rl-p 15. lemme kno what you think. also, need to order rammatt, wheres a good place? and the 2-channel for the compoenents? where should it be ordred from

375$ shipped - 16-MCD1000 1100 watt amplifier.

so far i have the headunit and sub amp taken care of... need to order the component set and amp for that next.... boston pro60 are the best for 350??? its kinda expensive... any other suggestions.. and that amp that was suggested by aurasound is currently unavailible.. any other suggestions on the amp?

the boston pro 6.4lf? comparable to the pro60's??

how much raamat do you think i'll need for both doors and a few layers in the trunk... they are sold in rolls of like 67.5 sq feet or somethin like that... 1 roll or 2?
