04 Taurus (Temp build) - The Raging Bull

I'm planning on buying a newer car before I go off to college... So I'm not going to invest too much in equipment that can't easily be transferred. (Ex: HO alt)

So far:

HU: Kenwood KDC255u

Mids and Highs: Pioneer 6x8 3 ways

Mids and Highs Amp: N/A (Old school Sherwood Xa1240Q ready to install)

Subs: 2 American Bass XFL 1244

Box: 4 cubes tuned to 33 Hz (Starr Mountain Sound)

Sub Amp: Hifonics HFi 2500d

Other: Big 3 in Knu CCA 1/0, less than 1 year old interstate battery under the hood

Plans for this car:

Mids and Highs: Unsure, but needs an upgrade. I'll install the Sherwood when I upgrade these.

Sub Amp: US Amps merlin md3d - I've found two for sale different places. Running 2 rather than 1 is an option

Other: AGM battery in the back

Other ideas: I came across two boxes for 6x9s for free... I have this strange idea about putting two 6x9s in the trunk and removing my rear deck speakers so that there's more airflow between the trunk and cabin. Not sure how it would work, but it's just an idea

Sherwood amp for mids/high

No rear fill needed just remove the 6x9's in the back. I will be selling my current comps in probably 2-3weeks. Only looking for 105 shipped and they are known to compete with comps in the 300-350 dollar price range.

What size comps? Ford uses strange sized speakers

Alright. So you'd recommend no rear stage at all?
It's not needed especially if you have subs. Without subs you can pick up on it a bit. Thing is it is playing the same thing you are playing up front and can be harmful to imaging. With t/a some people like to delay the rear speakers a lot and try to get it to seem like you are in a hall or big room. Overall do without it.

Ford uses 5x7 which is actually pretty common and you can use adaptors to make 6.5 fit really easy.

But like suggested, might as well remove rear fill. I did, and you wont notice it.

Sounds like I'll be buying some 6.5 comps (very possibly Murph's) and removing the rear deck speakers. I can power them with the Sherwood.

This is probably a stupid question, but where should the tweets be mounted?

Also, I've got the money to buy a US amps md3d from a local guy on Craigslist. It's scratched all to hell but it still works perfectly and it's a good price. I see a second md3d in my future too... 4k RMS might be a bit much though
