For the record, they're 4 ohm. I've had a '99 cobra and a '03 cobra both with the mach system. '08 also 4ohm, except for the 8' woofers in the front doors 1.5 ohm dvc. weird.

The pioneers are rated @ 50wpc continuous. Thats really all they're good for. They sound good at reasonable levels, but fall apart when pushed. I was using a 300/2 and they would not handle it. Swapped them out for spx pros after a week.

Or you can do what I do, drive them until they explode. Then you can buy yet another set and know the limits. Neither smart nor practical, but it does give you your answer.

Why 8 ohm? Stockers are 4 ohm. If you have the mach system I suggest you get a set of comps and replace the 6x8s with a 6.5" round and replace the tweet in the pod with the aftermarket tweet. Replacing the stock 6x8s with an aftermarket 6x8 coax isn't gonna gain you much. A 8 ohm driver will...

I've bought from them on several occasions. As with all online purchases, I assume the higher risk for the savings. If something blows up I expect it won't get fixed or replaced. I've had good luck so far, and feel I'm money ahead. I would not buy the warranty, to each his own.

The 300/4 bridged has got pretty good grunt to it. Mine pushed a set of alpine spx -177s hard and sounded great. better than my pdx 2x150.

Agreed, I'm finally using mine (pdx/2x150) to power my es 600's that I'm using for mid bass/rear fill. It sat in my closet for a year after I bought it. I swapped it in place of a JL 300/4 and it didn't sound right, so into the closet it went. It works fine for what I'm using it for now though...

Converts are a real challenge, buy big amps. Your sub will cease to exist with the top down. Double what you think you'll need.
