Passive Radiator In Rear Deck?

So I'm in the process of building a custom sealed enclosure for two Alpine R2-W12D4's. My car originally had a 8" sub in the rear deck, but the previous owner removed it when he installed his subs.

I'm curious, if I leave the ski pass down as it is, could I put a 8" passive radiator where the original sub went, or would it be almost useless and better to just keep the hole exposed.

It would be useless.

Passive radiators: are those any good? Last one I checked up on and the only one of few on the internet too, sounded terrible. Static. Not worth buying. Just buying a JBL or JL Audio is supreme. Worked fine. Just one guy seeing what they are or may be. Terrible speakers.

What's the meaning of static? Weird

How can you hear static from a passive radiator? Ffs

Passive radiators are designed to be used as part of a box. They're basically used to replace a port, where a PR has to be tuned like a port does inside of the box. You want to keep the hole open, more than likely, to allow more air flow and bass to be able to travel in and out of the trunk.
