I was told by DD to tune my enclosure to 37hz. For the 1512 FS: 37.

But I have a 712 FS: 28.


Was thinking of:
34.5 HZ.
Or
31.5 Hz.

Can you do half a HZ?

You can do half a HZ. You can tune the 1512 down to 35 HZ and still be fine. Maybe even lower, but mine was at 35 HZ and sounded great. What type of music are you mostly playing?

You can tune to whatever you want to, really. It’s more about tuning the sub to work well with whatever you listen to. I’d figure out how low the lowest notes are that you play and tune just low enough to hit those.

I have a 712 traded it for the 1512. Because I wanted lower FS and heavier: FS 28 40lbs.

I'm listening to Rebassed music and I'm thinking 31. Hz. But 35 has come to realize might be the loudest?

Maybe tune to 31-32 Hz.

You will typically have an overall higher db peak with tuning higher, like 35 hz might peak an overall higher db than 30 hz, but it’s usually not enough of difference/not as important with music, if you’re trying to just play your music. There’s a lot of variables to all of this. I would tune to make it loud where you want it to be loud.

I would guess that 32-35 is the most popular these days. Buck is right (I can't believe I just typed that) when he says it depends on the music that you listen to. I think sounding good from 25-45 would be a good goal.
