Sub and enclosure question

I will be purchasing a single 10" ct sounds meso sub and am having a hard time figiring out what size enclosure i should build. I would like to build my own ported enclosure but have no idea how big to go and proper tuning of the box, can someone help me out? Thanks in advance

I would look at a box around 1.25 cubes net tuned around 33 hz. - 35 hz.

Would the sub get ruined if i went bigger or should i go with a bigger sub to hit lower bass?

Nope. That is a good sub. If you tune to 33 hz. then it should play the high 20's just fine. You really shouldn't need to play lower than 28 hz. on most music.

If I can chime in.
when figuring out what size box. Don’t forget the displacement of the sub, bracing, etc.
I’ve seen some say x .55 to figure ish displacement.

Ok cool so 1.25 cube ft at 33 hz ported i can manage that i think

1.25 NET cubes. You have to add the sub and port displacement to the box. I'm guessing that you will be around 1.7 net before sub and port displacement.
