My back started giving me problems at the end of 2021, had to rest for the first bits of January. I'm doing designing and just taking my time, as I get warmed back up for 2022. Over the past year, I sure did learn a lot. All that I would like to do for 2022 is just keep getting better and better.

Anyways, here's my first design for 2022: 4 Sundown Sa-18's series 6th order bandpass wall sliding into a large SUV.

The front port is removable, and this was designed to be used for a wide variety of subs, and every sub can be regular or inverse mounted. It's tuned for a fairly heavy low end/daily response. The Sa-18 v2's seem almost like a little brother to the older Zv2 18's (iirc), at least when it comes to their box sizes. This wall is sliding into a 2x4 shell that is already built inside of the SUV.

Glad your back up and feeling better man!

Why didn't he make the brace the same on both sides? Symmetrical. That looks like Birch that is made in India.

Test cutting the brace. I designed this; I can change it whenever I want. All I do is change whatever and the CNC will cut it. The sub motor goes through the big open hole, and the sub is completely centered in the box from left to right. So, the brace is offset compared to the sub, because the box has a port that takes up internal width on one side. The pattern is a true geometrical pattern, so it wound up needing different circumstances for both sides the windows brace to be strong. I designed all of that, and it was designed that way for reasons.

I had to make sure the brace was strong, do the correct pattern, and make sure said pattern had enough open space in the gaps not to restrict airflow from air trying to go around the brace through the box. All of that is calculated where that brace open surface area is made to not restrict airflow. The bracing that isn’t part of the pattern is part of why it’s offset and not quite symmetrical.

This was the box I designed for a psi level 5 15 that has two ported chambers, sort of like an ABC box, but with just one exiting port. I think the PSI needs a recone, but the owner was still playing it, and the box seemed to work as planned. First time I’ve ever done anything like this one:
