Running dual alts vs 1 high output

2016 ram with the 5.7 hemi. I considered making my own bracket as well, I can weld/cut. Wire them parallel, 326a and find another 160a. Should be fairly stout
x2, I would definitely make sure that any alts you run are going to last and perform.

There was a company locally to me that re-wrapped my 130 amp explorer alt into a 180 amp, and it worked very well. If you can do multiple alts, and find a local alt company that is legit, that would be the way I would do it. I mean, the absolute best way would to be fit the biggest and best and most alts that you can from a high end alt company, but if you have the option to do multiple alts, you can just get factory ones re-wrapped into the biggest, safest amperage that they can hold.

You maybe can even run a modified stock alt and get a larger alt casing for you added on alt, where you could maybe have a bracket for a very common GM alt or something. Then you could get a nice GM cased alt or go rob some out of a junkyard and get them re-wrapped. I know there's brackets that can be made to fit a larger case alt where a smaller alternator would be from factory.

OP, what is your vehicle we're talking about here?

Mine does they have been in business for over 75 years. I have no issues with using them for any rebuilds. Been using them since 1993 and my dad before that since the '60s. Plus the one I use is a family friend so I know no matter what I get the service I am supposed to get. The ones around here are just as good. One of the places in Green Bay is known for the local audio guys to go to for a rebuild or buying a new HO alternator.

What’s their info sir?

Out of Illinois in Shorewood, IL. And sadly I don't see a website or anything for them anymore :(. Gonna have to contact a friend down there and ask if they are still in business. I know that the owner had passed but that his son or nephew was taking over to keep it in the same family. Kinda concerned now after trying to locate them as I haven't heard anything at all.

Pros & cons? 2 stock alternators converted gives me 652a peak but unknown idle amps. Cost to convert is $170 plus used alternator cost, plus bracket cost. Mechman or similar 370a peak, 200 something idle amps and they cost $600? Similar idle amps 2 vs 1 but peak is much more with 2. Thoughts? I would also just wire in parellel

One H/O alternator and one bank of lithium in the back. It only weighs 11 pounds and equals about 3 AGM batteries.

Shitt, I'm only running 4 - 8's and I have and AGM, a 320 Mechman and one bank of Lishen lithium. Remember, all that for 4 - 8's.
Lulz, I ran my four Sundown 8"s on a stock alt. You must be doing something wrong bro. Ok I'll be fair I was only running 1200 watts. I've run a Saz -1500 at 1 ohm on a stock alt. You people read to much internet and don't do enough real life testing. With a stock battery
