What 5k amp?

I changed amps as well. The SFB3K was very dirty power compared to the SIA3500. So, I figure new amp, lithium, and subs are broken in now should add something. I'm sure at the dash sealed will definitely make a difference. So, what number sealed at the dash would be legit? I wish that you could hear them. Having a small cab helps.
Again, if you think 500W more, and new battery will gain you 1.5 dB prove up. Gains become more and more difficult the louder you get and anybody who has been up that hill can tell you that 149 is often a long long way away from 150. Softening up the subs' suspensions happens extremely quickly for the most part and it is as likely as not TS parameter changes would have you lose. Really no way of knowing without testing, but a lot of guys do better numbers right after they fresh recone subs.

I would expect 2-4dB difference between outlaw and dB Drag style metering in any pickup truck.

3,000 dirty watts to 3,500 watts of clean power and adding lithium has to make a little bit of difference. Remember that the cab of my truck is tiny. So, maybe it's only in the 149's, I'll take that.

Not as much as you would think as hispls says. Even back in the '90s we did competition testing with how he has described, no one did testing with the windows open. Even today the competitions around here all done like that even in Illinois. To hear that one did it with windows open is odd compared to other competitions around the country.

I think at least one competitor would have objected.

The number isn't what makes it legit. The measurement method is what makes it legit.

I hope you know I'm not hating on your number. If it makes you happy then it's perfect. I'm only hating on the way you measured. I don't have anything against you bud.

It wasn't with the windows open. You are totally lost and late in this conversation. And you live in Wisconsin not Illinois. Please tell me how all the competitions in the World of car audio are judged. What are the exact rules? I'll wait for your reply.

We had a huge car audio competition in Las Vegas last month. I metered my truck exactly how they metered all the cars and trucks at that competition. If you guys want to call me a cheater then so be it. BTW, why am I the only one with balls enough to post a score? 148.5 @ 32hz. People can hate all they want. That's why my installer told me that people are going to get their feelings hurt after seeing my score on 4-8's. Well, it's about to be an even higher score.

Okay first off I wasn't being an ass. Second I lived in Illinois for over 25 years and did competitions there all the time. 2nd competitions are done here as hispls explained. I have never seen one with the doors open or windows down in all that time. MECA rules book say it is up to the dealer or judge iirc but doors will be closed with the owner inside with proper hearing protection.

You are not going to gain a ton of DB just because you went lithium and 500 watts. SFB isn't a dirty amplifier either but believe that if you want we are all entitled to our own opinions.

Neither I or joe called you a cheater. I never said it wasn't a good number either. I am also not late to the conversation been following it since you posted those first numbers and you said and I quote

It was 148.5 at 32 hz. 148.0 at 32 hz. on music with the driver's door open.

So I was wrong on the windows being open. Not like you haven't made a mistake around here mister perfect! Door being open is not how it should be judged period.

As hispls said that is not how majority of competitions work when testing.

I have no reason to post a score when I am not out to prove anything or to anyone. Especially not without a complete system installed and even then I could care less what it does as long as I am happy. I haven't competed in 20+ years and was doing low to mid 150s in a Escort GT.

For someone who likes to claim they trigger people around here it seems you are the one who gets triggered more then anyone else.

Good grief chill out some. Not even hispls said the numbers were bad in the one thread.

I did 148.0 @ 32 hz. on music. Does that make a difference to you?

I don't like being called a liar. I've posted three builds with pictures in the last two years. I've even posted scores on a meter for everybody to see. I think a 148.5 in a single cab with 4-8's is pretty legit 148.0 on music is equally impressive. The truck isn't even sound deadened and it's all behind the seat in a standard cab. If you guys want to hate and call me a liar and a cheat then go ahead. Come and listen to them and then call me a liar and a cheat.

Dude how many times do you need it explained? Nobody called you a liar or a cheater. There is a proper way to measure for reference.

Think of it like this: someone brags they can eat a whole pizza. The obvious response is to ask what size pizza.

I remember getting a 144.6 with my single 12 inch type R years back. I was fairly proud for my first metering, so I decided to get a 2nd type R and a bigger amp thinking it would gain me a ton on the meter. I can still remember the sinking feeling when 500$ worth of extra equipment gave me .6 worth of gains.

3,000 dirty watts to 3,500 watts of clean power
Can you define the difference between """clean power""" and """dirty power"""?
adding lithium has to make a little bit of difference
Again, I don't think you understand how logarithmic scale works and you certainly don't have any experience with how difficult gains are as you reach greater states of compression.

on music.
Pretty meaningless. It's easy enough to find a music track with a 3 second sine wave of most frequencies. If you have 30 second music average classes (as close to some score without going over in 30 second average) those are a lot of fun and usually have some real competition. You need to do your homework to find a good song for your build and some experience on keeping that average where you want it.
148.5 in a single cab with 4-8's
OUTLAW
The truck isn't even sound deadened
Deadening will lose on the meter as often as it gains. I lost about 3 10ths doing the floor in my Jeep.

Again, if you think gaining 1.5 from where you're sitting is easy, give it a whirl and report back. And please use the caveat "OUTLAW" when boasting about numbers.

AFAIK the only international org that allows door(s) open is USACi:
"OUTLAW” records may be recorded anywhere forward of the “B” pillar. The microphone must be secured in a USACI certified globe and be placed where it can be observed by the world record official during the entire run. Doors may be open or closed but may not be opened and then closed during the run. Competitor may be in the vehicle but must sit on the opposite side of the microphone"

I
Exactly to all the above! We have all said those exact things but he keeps insisting we are calling him a liar or a cheater.
At this point I want to know his hobbies so i can try to put it into perspective for him.

If you brag about your drag time, people assume it's a quarter mile.
