I don't need specific answers. just tell me where to learn.

By basics i mean basics, for example explain ohms law or huffmans iron law in your own words without using google (rhetorical btw)

I'm not expecting you to know or quote direct theory but a good box designer or knowledgeable audio hobbyist could easily answer those.

I may not post a lot anymore and when I do its usually just to mess with people but I still lurk and see what people post, and I see the sort of posts you make....

I admire your desire to learn and your humility and admittance to not knowing a lot and I'm not trying to knock that. We all have to start somewhere and I was in that position once.

That being said you come across as eager to learn but not willing to put in the work and rather in constant seek of the easy way out. I could be wrong and completely out of perspective but thats the impression I get.

So listen the advice you've been given so far and put in the work and you will get there. It takes time, there is no short cut.
I appreciate your perspective and that is why I asked a question to get you to expand. to clarify for every post I ask a question on here. I have researched 100 pages/videos/ and forum posts. I really only post on here for two reasons. When I am having trouble finding information I am seeking and when I haver almost completely made up my mind about something but second guess myself and crave confirmation. I just form it as part of a question to avoid coming across too overconfident in what I know. for example. my post about clamping power. I pretty much knew what the problem was but I was worried about breaking equipment so I wanted to make sure.

ohms low is a given because I work in electrical.
hoffmans iron law is SO basic that tbh i'm kind of saddened that you think I havent done enough research to know something that is mentioned in almost every video about box building I have ever watched.

I only really
honestly I know you lurk here all the time and it's kind of not cool how you only comment to be negative. if you are here to be a dick then don't comment.
Wasn't being a dick dumbass. Like how you quoted me three times in one post tho. No wonder you can't find what you're looking for

i'm not stupid enough to fall into your troll. I've seen you all over this site being ignorant and provocative towards many people with stupid reasons, for example a miss click on my part.

with that said engaging with you is useless. so this will be my last response. what a nasty person you are.

I'm willling to read and do the work, I'm an unnaturally fast learner and will dig my nose into something 6 hours a day if I love it.
The underlying theory behind this alignment has not changed any from loudspeaker cookbook. Bass Box Pro is as reliable as we can get for computer aided modeling software.

If you really care to learn how these work, you're not going to figure it out reading or watching youtube clickbait, but building and testing. Buy wood, glue, screws, and start making some sawdust. Buy an SPL meter or RTA for testing and write down notes somewhere of what changes changes what. Get some subs with different parameters and try to get them to play how you want.

Lastly try to be selective about from whom you take advice. I've seen guys who are very experienced and who build some extremely competitive cars come out with nonsensical explanations of why things work. It is my theory that these guys understand what works from years of trial and error but haven't the slightest idea about the science behind why what they're doing is working. Always weigh what you hear against the overall reliability of the source and still run it past the ******** sniffer or ideally test the theory for yourself before taking it as fact.

yeah man appreciate it. im excited to get started. gonna try asking to build some homies boxes for free. I might just take a design from google for my subs as a starting point and then just start tweaking and tweaking. cuz i've heard 6th's can be unforgiving with the stress they put on the subs if designed wrong and how they hide distortion doesn't help any. I dont want to destroy my subs with my first box lmao. though sa rev3 recones are like 50 bucks I think.

I can't stand using bassbox pro, personally. Idk if I had an old model but the interface was horrible.

Just do some research. The information is easily available these days with computers. My experience before cell phones, computers, and forums and spending time in different audio shops, was Trial and Error. Majority of it was an expensive learning process. Especially when you are 75-100 miles from the nearest /maybe the only Car Audio shop. I learned on my own.

LOL.. At least wood is a bit cheaper than most of the gear these days..Id start with some cheap azzed subs, till you get a little more experienced., and have more knowledge hands on.

That's a bit of a catch 22 isn't it?
There aren't really alot of cheap subs that can take the stress of a 6th order I thought. Im gonna buy a **** ton of wood and build don't worry. Or I may decide to just buy a design from buck. Bur then it's less fun for me.

And yeah I was hoping for more concrete places to find actuall theory but I cant find any. All the 12volt link said was basically he hated 6th orders and told me general stuff I already know.

I dont know where you guys are looking but I just have trouble finding anything but very surface level information.

I want to read page after page of theory cuz im a huge nerd. But most stuff online is very general just repeating what a 6th order does, the roll off and the trade offs. Nothing about how to balance it. It mentions they are touchy and hard to tune. But it never goes into why or the principals that cause this.

I'm just gonna buy cookbook honestly and read it.

the closest thing I've found to what i'm looking for are Hexibase videos. if I could find a site that has write ups in the same amount of detail he gives I'd be happy as ****

No replacement for experience. It doesn't matter how much you model stuff sometimes. A sub is alive, the air is alive, temps change, humidity changes, air density changes, vehicles flex, t/s parameters change. You just gotta know inherently what certain factors in a box will do if you change them.
