Sub suggestion

companies like american bass and SQ, whose woofers literally were carbon copies, they can hit lows well. one of my buddies i built boxes with for a while had a like 2000 buick regal. we did 2 AB's 12's, whatever their 1500w series was at the time. it was a subs up box, with an 8" sono tube firing back. HE HAD TO CUT OUT HIS REAR DECK BECAUSE IT BROKE SO BADLY. HE LITERALLY BROKE HIS REAR DECK from demoing so much and playing lows. i don't remmber what it was tuned to, but he was touching 25-26 hz with authority, and it wasn't all crappy sounding like the sub was struggling.

The FI drivers are one of the most durable out there imo. USA coils, machined and with options. I had mine built for my needs and it was the most durable sub ive ever had. I gifted it to my son to keep it in the family.
Omg... I really tried to kill that poor sub driving it till coil tap and 152.43db from a 20mm xmax 1750 watt single 18. Not a world beating number but for a single ferrite 18 ported?.. Not bad they tell me.
Of course you better be ready to wait a bit but if you can wait its worth it.
My son is already scheming to install that Bl n his next car.

With regards to tuning, doesn't music preference come in as well. At least that is what I have always been told and believed. Mine is set to 37hz for 2 TNT-1044s right now for Metal, Classic Rock and occasionally some rap. Still can't thank the guy above this post enough for all the help he gave me here and outside of here via email.

And as I said I am going to upgrade this upcoming summer to a better subwoofer either dual 12's or a 15" of some sort now that I have a mono-block to push them.

I would also recommend DC. They're my favorite personal subs, as in my favorites that I had. I had 2 of the DC XL's 18's in 13 cubes @ 29 hz, 12.3 in^2 per cube. They were rated at 1400 or 1500 watts. My ed 9.1's were only rated for 1200w (at 12.6v). I still did a 149.3 @ 35 hz. It was designed for SPL in mind at all. Those subs could play such a range, i was impressed. i think mike smiley even said something to me about. that was in la vergne tn. I think Tenacious was there too. we ate at zaxby's afterwods. it's all fun and games until you almost lose your rear glass haha

One of those companies? ;)

Only thing worth a damn from them is some of their amplifiers and even then because of the history I wouldn't go near them, lol.

The one Soundqubed mono-block is the upgraded version of the 2K Skar amplifier from what Williston has said from looking at the guts when he did a dyno test on it iirc.

And yeah I lost my rear glass while driving down the rte 53 in my hometown in my '96 Escort GT with a couple of 12" RF Pros at that time. Heard..crackle..crackle...BOOM! That was not a fun bill to pay especially since the insurance company denied it of course.

So would this be a good buy? XL 18" They have the dual 2 and dual 1 ohm for that price.

Man...that place is gonna cost me some $$$ that I don't have, lol. I would buy a set of 12 in the M3 Subwoofers or a single M4 15" as both call for 3.0 cubic feet which is perfect for the '03 Explorer while leaving me room for some groceries. And tbh the 15" would end up being cheaper then 2 12s. Even an 18" with the extra stuff in the M4 is 490.00

2x 4 ohm coils can be wired parallel to 2 ohms or series to 8 ohms. There's many amps with 2 ohm power you can use.
