Wanting to run about 3K RMS can't decide between more coil and a little more surface area with three tens or slightly higher excursion capabilities with a 3K sub like the evil. I prefer punchy accurate bass thinking the three tens would have more coil ftw, but the 15 might hit harder and hear good things about the evil.

Why run three!?
-less ideal wiring scenario.
- Two twelves allow you tobetter match amps and wire to a reasonable 1 Ohm load versus a .67 or 2.67 wired (doesn’t factor rise).
-You can get punchy on any size with the right enclosure.
-Also midbass commitment in your overall build will Help punch too.

Space wise, a beefy fifteen will need 4.5-5 cubes, 3-10’a 5-6 cubes, 2-12’s 4.5-5.5
Cubes. combine a more ideal wiring scenario with 24” Of cone space vs 15”, Good case for a couple 12’s

Yeah I been thinking about a pair of twelves too, have about 5 cubes max in a civic

That's not how area of a circle works.

Fewer drivers is less stuff that can go wrong provided you have the mounting space and don't need more coils to hold the power you plan to use. All things equal all of the options discussed should get you to the same place if you build a good box.

Really dude It’s still more cone space, sorry next time I’ll do pie r squared calcs since the op probably cares about that

I would almost prefer a single 15, just thinking that 2 or 3 coils would have less power compression and be better for daily blasting.
I can't say empirically that I know since I haven't run just one of these new evil 4 inch coil super subs before however. I'm really interested in the 33 mm excursion and 3500 rms power rating.
I do know that single large subs have more muscular visceral bass and love that, just worried about power compression with just one coil as I'm hard on the volume knob. Many say the evils need that power and can pound endlessly. Interesting!

fyi......say you have 2 subs t/s specs all the same, both have 34mm xmax......one takes 500rms to reach xmax, the other takes 3000rms to reach xmax......they will both be equal in SPL

That kind of ties in to why I was wanting three or four tens as opposed to 115 as well as the fact three or four coils is going to heat up a lot less. I could slot load 3 tens Downfiring and send the ports up through the rear deck to load the back glass as well. 3-4 tens slot loaded means Cone reinforcement, more coils for heat dissipation and ports loading back glass should be good iny 2007 Civic coupe. 5 cubes of space max,6 if I build into trunk ( kinda don't want to)

Hmm interesting indeed. The 15 inch evil has a 4 layer 4 inch coil and the gcons have 4 layer 3 inch coils. I'm not after max spl per se just good loud music.
I do love the muscle of a large subs and the fact it couples to the cabin better.
Also loved the way my last build of four tens sealed in a s10 cab sounded as well.
For the Civic, I'm thinking ported with subs forward sealed from trunk and ports through rear deck hitting glass would be good.

I agree with every one above. OFC is much better. Copper is a much better conductor than aluminum.

Pretty much. It's just a nice kit. A solo rite Scarlett 2i2, XLR mic and a loop back cable are my next purchases so I can get accurate phase...

One or two, they are still subwoofer outs and are mono summed signals from both left and right. Even the 2 RCA subwoofer pre-outs on the 2nd one...
