Hello, I'll keep this post simple.
Despite trying to research this on my own I still have no idea what the differences are between cheap and expensive brands of butyl style sound deadening. All that i've read so far is marketing hearsay about dynamat being either way better or just as effective as cheaper brands like noico and kilmat. All of these reviews seem to focus on meaningless stuff like ease of install and brand recognition.
Has anyone/company actually taken the time to lay down a cheaper brands sound deadening, test the outside decibel levels and stereo frequency response, then rip out the cheaper stuff and replace it with dynamat (expensive stuff) and compared the hard data?
I definitely care more about decibels and frequency response than heat insulation or ease of install. I want to ensure I install deadening that will serve me well when I begin upgrading my cars sound system. I am I bit of an enthusiast about stuff like this but i'd rather avoid paying 5 times more for deadening if it really has no benefit for my use case.
If anyone has information or experimental data please provide it, thank you ahead of time. I want to do this job right.
