I haven't had a new system installed by myself since I was a teen! With my 2011 Nissan Rogue S that has a stock 4 speaker system but, has ability to have two tweeters and a midrange in the dash, I am looking for help trying to select a fairly great system this year in my vehicle. So, I'm looking to see some suggestions about different options and whether or not to install an amp as well. Looking forward to some great discussions.

Welcome! Make a thread in the General section, asking any and all questions you have. Statesville, home of Mike Skinner and Ryan Newman. Trippy that only 95 people lived there in 1800.

Hey everyone! Thanks for the welcome! I'll tell you that I am looking at spending several hundred on the head unit itself more than likely. The speakers and maybe an amp, I'm thinking around another $500. I'm hoping to walk out with at least just under $1,000 for the system. I am interested in doing some of this myself but, I really want to do it right for even a mid range system for sound quality. If need be I might turn it over to an installer. Just saying...

See you in the "General Section"!!

I got Memphis mojo pro 6.5” components (comes with 2 6.5” midrange drivers and 2 3.5” super tweeters and 2 passive crossovers) and then 2 separate Memphis mojo pro 6.5” midranges in the back. $370 from Car Stereo Warehouse in Charlotte NC or $470 online. If u can’t fit 6.5” then get adapters to make them fit. And then u can get a sundown sae 100.4 from them for $300 or a used/refurbished one from theamplab.net for $250. And for $250 you can get a pioneer deh-80prs head unit. It has a volt meter built in. I have a Kenwood Excelon kdc-x998. But if I get a new head unit it will be the 80prs. The components are the easiest thing, that’s why I went that route. Or u can find some PRV mids and highs off parts-express.com and an active crossover on there. It’s a more difficult route, but will sound better.

Oh, I should have also stated that I am looking for the double din navigation units or the multimedia units. I have been researching some of them already but, just not sold on one at this moment.

Taramps makes good cheap amps. Get a taramps 4 channel amp instead if the price for the sundown is too much. Taramps is Brazilian and sundown is Korean. I personal prefer Korean but will use Brazilian and still like it.
