So does anyone here have any experience with the MD 12k? I’m currently rocking a MD 8k on a 110 stock alternator and a xs in the back and I’m banging so hard now. My voltage holds at 12 maybe goes down to 11.8 pretty solid for my electrical if you ask me. I had a bass 5k before this and it would clip way before this one does. Basically I can go louder w my 8k before clipping than I could w my 5k .(I mean obviously but I didn’t think I could since my 5k clipped so fast.) So now I’m looking into getting a 12k for more head room .I never clip cause Brazilian clipping at high power is just asking for smelly voice coils. Anyways anyone here ran the 12k? might get one soon and want to talk about it.

Mine was alright too I just payed attention the clip light... it was actually pretty good I had it on a skar evl 15 for like two weeks before I sold it for 290 and got an 8k for the low lol

So let’s break it down. Normal voltage with car on is 14.4/12.8 resting and your basing your impression of your electrical on 12v dropping to 11’s....but you want to add 4K watts more...all on a 110 alternator? 373 amps musical draw moving moving up to nearly 600. Oh yeah, your vehicle consumes 50-60% of factory amperage.

No real analysis needed. Hit the pause button on buying bigger amps and step your electrical up. I bet it would have a massive impact on the output of your md 8000 which is currently hugely underpowered.

And my voltage depends on the song decaf songs full tilt and volume 32 on my head unit (max is 35) and I can hold 13s no clipping at all

You’d be surprised bro.. you have to see it to believe it I guess I’m having no problems with my amp getting or hot or anything

If my voltage was dropping below 13v I'd be upgrading my alt if I were you.

You are dropping into the 11s. That is not good. I ran A Taramps 8k on 5 G31s and a DC 270 alt.

See what, that you’re the first guy to successfully defy basic principles of electrical supply and demand. Nah man! 8k or 12k...It’s not headroom if it’s power potential that your vehicle is not capable of producing. Your running your amp at voltage that is not ideal. You put a 12k on your electrical now you’ll be on here soon-after looking for a new one.

I bet with a new alternator the difference in your current output with the same 8k is significantly superior.

Bro even my friend who has a singer 270 and about 160 ah of agm was seeing pretty similar voltage... can you really keep something this powerful at 13.5 constant ?

Yes and my alternator is regulated so it never goes above 14.2v if not for that I'd rarely ever drop below 14v

That for the bass 5k amp
