zx1000 with a w7. good setup?

my buddy has a kicker zx1000.1 for me. i want to run a w7 12" off of this. would this be a decent set up?

no b/c of the ohm level of the sub its a 3ohm sub

it'll work, but the w7 wouldn't be performing its best. but it would get kinda loud.

jl amps are expensive. what if i ran say a zx 1500 to it? or some other 1500 wrms amp? would a bigger amp help the perforance of the sub?

Well i've seen many a W7 take that kinda power and keep going successfully.

so you'll buy their amps that do their power at 3ohms.....

is it a single 3ohm or dual 3ohm? if you're lucky its a dual 3ohm voice coil sub and you can get a 1.5ohm load and get a 2ohm rated amp.

if not get a 1500w @ 2ohms rated amp and after imp rise you'll be okay.

x2. Its just a keep here shop here deal they do. Just like if you work on cars, they automaker wants you to buy FORD, repair with Ford. Just like I heard the new BMW have a 2 hood over the engine, so if you life it you void the warrenty, I hate companys like that

kicker 1500 should do the trick, i run a mtx 81000d and it loves it. (gets a little warm at times)
