i think a more important question then any of those is budget..how much you willing to spend? sure we can sit here and tell you to use zapco,re and jl but it be a waste of time if your on a hifonics, type r,and pioneer budget..so how much you lookin to spend on a system then we can point out the best product for the money..

well, loud:yumyum: and i want ti to sound as good as possible, for the price...i'm a metal head, so i'm gonna be blastin that...
ok, so you like metal, rock, and really loud stuff...

ok heres what i can tell you without more information...

speakers: components system with metal tweeter (rainbow cmx)

sub: 2 of these

http://sonicelectronix.com/item_4281.html

can get very loud, with decent sq

amp: http://sonicelectronix.com/item_6522.html

cheap power, good quality

get a ported box, i would suggest you build one yourself.....not that hard (glue and mdf)

i'll be happy to help you further if you state your budget,

keep posting or pm me.

Works for me.

What you put down tells me a few things:

You like metal. You want a 12 in an extended cab pickup, which means you'll need a low mounting depth and small box requirement since there's little rooms for the woofer in those vehicles. Since you don't care how many, we could go with a more expensive 12 than 2 less expensive 12s and save box space and money.

Honestly, I'm going to take a wild shot in the dark and recommend the Sound Splinter RL-P 12. They're known to sound good, get loud, and only need a small box. They run at around $250 / sub and can be found pretty easily through a google search. Wait for more options to present themselves before making your decision.

Also, since I brought up money (Can't stand the stuff myself) how much are you willing to spend on said woofer(s)?

u beat me to it:crap:

One more thing:

The Alpine Type R is very popular and very hyped. It is not suited to all applications ESPECIALLY when they require small enclosures and sealed enclosure. Also the Hifonics Brutus is a lousy amplifier. Hence, never listen to any advice leonsv gives you again.

oh thanks raven:rolleyes: ruin my reputation will you:D

but i do agree on some things, but although the type r is a highly hyped sub, it's still a good one... and i suggested it because he never specified what size box he wanted let alone sealed or ported... also he never mentioned where he wanted to put the box, heII he might be wanting a 8 cu ft ported box in the bed of the truck lol //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

also i figured because he said he wanted a LOUD system, his music would drown out the sound from the amp...

A few years back the Hifonic Brutus amps were teh shit like the Rs, everyone and their mom had one. We learned through dozens of deaths and complaints about the high noise floor, ruined FM reception, overrated power output, and the fact that a lot of them weren't quite 1 ohm stable. That's where my argument comes in against the amp. Bad xp.

The Type R is a good sub. There's no argument there. But sometimes it fits, sometimes it doesn't. If OP doesn't want to do a blowthrough then there's no way a Type R with it's large box requirements and deep mounting depth are going to fit into a truck without a massive headache or pulling out the back seats.

PS, in my argument against type R I totally pwned myself for recommending the RL-P. =p

In my experience, it's really REALLY easy to get loud in vehicles like trucks. Then again, I drive a Ford Taurus, so just about any other vehicle is easier to get loud in. =) Either way, smaller subs would fit the bill nicely I think.
