I am just listening to what the installer says. He said coaxils will help the rear fill also when I have the hatch open it will sound better. Why would I buy new amps when these are very nice amps? I don't think a coat of paint will damage the amps, they are powdercoated white right now.And why are you putting coax in the sub box? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

here is what i have:So you're definitely going after a "car show" install so people can hear your music while the hatch is open? You go to Dropfest much? Otherwise there's no point of rear fill if nobody is gonna sit in the back seat in a small two door like that. Better make sure the installers don't put the coax in the same air chamber as the subs.
The most expensive marine amps these days are around $200 new, what is the brand and model number of the amps you have? The biggest mono marine subwoofer amp is around 500~750 watts RMS so that isn't much, the MB Quart 6 channel marine amps are also for sale at $199 and free shipping.
I don't like painting amps because to me it is ghetto especially if it's gonna be a rattle-can job. The cost of sodablasting the amp then a layer of primer and the actual paint will cost more than you want to pay and it is stilling going to make the amp lose over half of the value if you want to sell it later on.

Memphis 16-MA3004 75 x 4 Class AB Full Range Marine Amplifier [16-MA3004] - $599.99 : CarJamz.com, Inc., Car Audio, Stereo, HID Conversion, Custom Boxes, Chrome Trim, Rims, Kinetik
Memphis 16-MAD1000 1100 x 1 Class D Marine Subwoofer Amplifie [16-MAD1000] - $749.99 : CarJamz.com, Inc., Car Audio, Stereo, HID Conversion, Custom Boxes, Chrome Trim, Rims, Kinetik
These are very expensive amps. What maybe i could do is just enclose them in plexi glass and darken the glass. So your saying don't put the coaxils in the hatch? Why would he insist on this then? He isn't charging me for them so its not greed. Also this isn't a rattlecan job the box is gonna be a full custom fiber glass
Ya I won't paint them I didn't realize the value of them. The 16-MCH1300 is that as nice as the 2 amps I have currently? I will sell both of mine to get that one, but if the amps I have are good quality cause they are old school I wanna hang on to them. That make sense? ha^^^Yeah right holy hell batman, $750 for 1100 watts and $550 for a 75 x 4 watts amp? They're a couple hundred less at woofersEtc but still, that's old-school US Amps expensive. Could explain why they're both discontinued by Memphis.
They're awesome stuff, painting them will make them lose value. A tinted Plexiglas cover over them would look great but remember to install some fans to keep them cool - one blows air in and one blows the air out, or some vents on one side and have both fans blow out.
I was talking about rattle-can the amps not the box, but yeah either way don't paint the amps, at least that's my opinion.
In your case the 5 channel Memphis Belle 16-MCH1300 (75 watts x 4 into 4 ohms, 1100 watts x 1 for subs) would replace both of the marine amps, and the amp is dark gray/black so it'll match better. You might be able to find one for around $400 used in good condition.
i found that amp the belle for 300 but wanna know 1st if it will work better than the 2 I have?
