I personally HATE JL. but they do make good woofers. Alot of people around here like them. (severely overpriced)

i have heard that Shocker Supers can keep up, and in even some cases, beat the XXX in SPL.

Is this true?

yea, its a home audio sub but it can be used for car audio use,

My friend swore by his shockers untill Mike ripped him off. 176.1DB

Those Tumults are a HOME woofer, kind of like the DPL12. I wonder how they would perform in a car, I doubt they would be good for Db because the specs conclude they they would do much better SEALED.

What in the hell are you guys talking about??... lol

If you are going for all SPL, there is no way that a Brahma or a XXX is the sub for you. The XXX is about 60% SPL and 40% SQ... which is no where near the specs needed for an all SPL contest. They are rated as daily drivers, so they aren't even in the same class as most of the DD subs...

ah, so xxx has moderate SQ as well...hmm...n a 1600W+ sub...wow...no wonder they're so expensive...

Punch/power HX2's... they carry modest SQ too, don't they?

they have more than moderate SQ, they have great SQ....

and HX2's aren't good at SQ, they get loud but they don't have very good SQ

HX2's aren't bad, they are Rockford Fosgate's top sub. They just don't have the best sound quality out there. You can ask most people on this forum and they will tell you that they aren't good subs, but it all depends on the enclosure. A friend of mine has 2 HX2's in his truck and they sound almost as good as my XXX, which suprised me.

And as far as keeping it all in the same brand, there is really no need to do that. Certain companies tend to be very good at one item, but not good at others. Like PPI, they have awesome amps, but just mediocre subs. There is no real advantage to keeping it all within the same brand unless you are going for a sponsorship, which is VERY hard to get.

Well, I'm trying to run my own audio business soon, and I thought I'd need demp vehicles around, since that's what most shops do in Korea... but they hide their amps cause they only use one good amp for show outside, and the rest is hidden in the spare tire well...

Now, I don' want to do that... I want to be able to show customers what the benefits are to getting different brand of amps or drivers...and I've always liked RF since I was a little kid, so I plan to at least complete a car with at least 95% of RF products to satisfy my dream first..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

well if you are trying to get an all RF system, then the HX2's are the sub that you want to get, they are RF's top sub, and will sound the best.
