On a mag over here in Korea, this van had a so-called DD9717 and took about 1500W RMS PER voicecoil...the 9717(or was it 9718?) was modified or something to take the beating...3 of them to get 170.1...

On another note...similar setup, this time with a single DD9515 and got 169.7 or something...

believe it or not, that's what the mag says...oh, and you wouldn't believe what kind of car that single 15" was installed in either... still waiting to get my scanner fixed...

Yeah...It is a Digital Designs Woofer I think it's the 9718 "the beast".

- - - - DD makes some nice woofers, but their customer service sucks.

Ok, the RE XXX is definitely on my potential list....

There are so many freaks in Korea who don't know what they're doing and just install whatever is big and bad...looks like this might just be it...

My opinion...If ALOT of time was put into the vehicle and box, the XXX could do better than the DD woofers.

yeap, theres the kicker 18 L7 5000watts rms, the mtx rfl i believe is 2000 watts rms, audioban 34 its 5000 watts rms

are they hand-made?

why don't most people use the XXX's in SPL's though? I mean, it's supposed to be one of the biggest and baddest around... how many pounds does a 12" weigh? ****, I gotta go to the site and look for it myself again...unfreakinbelieveable

an 18" L7 can take 5000w???? you're shittin me right? Dang.....

the audiobahn 34's that huge 30"+ inches or something...UFO's, I'm not interested...but L7s handle 5000W??? wow...THAT I REALLY didn't know... how come usch a big difference? the 10~15" handles about 500~1000, doesnt' it?

My OPINION yes XXX is ONE OF THE BEST. there are many others that are great for DB's. SHOCKERS are good. It all depends on whether you want lots of DB with the least amount of woofers or DB with many woofers.

Ok, how about this....

if money wasn't in your agenda, what would be the perfect (or near perfect)sub? Definitely SQ, but incredibly loud as well... excluding a brahma, I know most people would vote for that, so what are my other options?

You can tell me audiobahn if you want, I don't care, I just want opinions

well theres the elemental design a series they are supposed to have real good sq and spl, theres the elementa designs k's i dont know about sq but spl yeap edesignaudio.com , theres the adire shive and tempest

SInce I always like a pair of subs instead of one, that means when i have my gf in my car, I'llt echnically be having 3 of her in the car...shit...

it would either be one fo the Resonant woofers or ................Hell...an all around woofer... I would chose the Resonant Engineering HC12q1.

But for spl, i'd chose the XXX 18--------------it has a 32mm Xmax (ONE-WAY!!!)

JL audio's W7...is it safe to say that they are the best in terms of a combo SQ and SPL? or am I gonna get canned in here for saying that?
