THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE NOT CLIPPING THE HELL OUT OF THE AMP.

So care to explain to me how I'm clipping the hell out of the amp? I guess setting the gain on the amp with a DMM was useless?

^^ I already know that...So I need to explain how, and why is teh amplifier clipping then? I might of used the wrong tone. Supposely I used a 50hz tone but I must double-check and re do it. Anybody have some better suggestions, or what I can do to test to see what could possibly be the problem?

Yes, it was. A DMM doesn't tell you if a sine wave is clipped.
Precisely.

I'm not saying that you ARE clipping the amplifier to hell an back, but if everything you have told/described to us is true... then it would lead me to believe that you are clippin the amplifier somewhat at least.

What HU do you have, what are the settings like on there?

Lol Mega, its not that loud //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. But I was using an Alpine CDA-9835. I'm changing it out to a 880PRS today/tomorrow. And the ONLY thing I had set ont he 9835 was sub-out at +15 when I set the gain the full preamp output voltages.

DMM setting isn't the best, however it does give an option for those who don't have an O-scope. When I set my gains, I first set it by ear, then with the O-Scope. (Which turned out to be dead-on before clipping)

im guessing because its wired @ 2 ohms your not gettin a ton of power out of it which is causing you to turn your volume knob up higher than you normally would driving the amp into clipping, but i could be wrong
x2...its easy to clip when ur underpowering....

box built close to specs? perhaps its just damage from hitting it so many times (purpose of the pads there u know)....

Box build dead on-specs. I don't see how I can clip when I have the adjustments where it's suppose to be. It does 1800wrms x 1 @ 1oh, 900wrms x 1 @ 2ohms and so on, i have it set at 900wrms x 1 @ 2ohms.

Just because and amp is rated at 900rms at 2 ohms does NOT mean it does that power -- I don't care how reputable the brand is. Also, many amps will do odd powers at different impedances but the manufacture will label them in a more understandable way.

You also might have wired it to .5 ohms instead. Have you checked the DCR with a DMM?
