Well its been said that the R's perform better than the X's. Money wise that is.... just like he said.

The type R is the new internet woofer *****. In the world we live in, you get what you pay for, so don't expect your type R to last all day with more than it's given rating, especially with an orion 2500d to 2!? Last time I checked a type R 12 fried with only 625 watts....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif I was sorta up on the hype on them until I actually heard some for myself. Man, my 9500 sounds a hundred times better, plus it's only 300 bucks more and gets much louder. I say if you are going for the extreme, head for the XXX, but if you want a system that hangs more on the SQ side, hit up the type X's, you can't beat 2 for 550.00

umm alot of people run many times the power than rated for their subs. success comes from experience and learning from it. i seen spkrmans set up at a db drag it did a 150 flat on the dash 100% legal . 1 2500 d amp 2 type r 12's and he was showing it off for some time as well to music. if you want to make an arguement and make it stick you need a totally different angle than where you are going with this lol

daily in a good box and some common sense 600-800 easy 800 and up if you learn it conservitively

Ok thanks man so will i be ok if i get the amp in my sig and wire to its max i think its 1200 watts and keep the gains down(which lowers the watts running too it i think?)

if i think it might be messin up or w/e then cant i just wire it at 2ohm and run the 800 too it?

i would wire it 2 ohm first and get used to it that way before going full bore with it

Clipping fries any woofer with nearly any amount of power, thats where "underpowering" came from.

Hear them in a good install and tell me the 9500's are better //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif. I'd love to test a pair of 9500's, though... might eventually.

You are talking about me right? Well the reason my Type R blew is because I am a knob and wanted the pump the living hell out of it, and I taught myself a lesson. If you are going to run 2x the RMS wattage to a sub, tone it down. I blew my Type-R, and Im seriously thinking about buying another, just because of how excellent sounding it was. Im not a retard buying the same sub so I can blow it in 2 days again.

Im thinking the type X cause of the cost but i really want 2 xxx if anyone has any good deals on them let me know..What sub overall would most of you all buy? going for SQ but SPL at the same time?
