XXX or type X

Power handling is so dependant on so many issues, yet people throw around wattage figures like they are gospel, and any true sign of a speaker's performance. While I -highly- doubt anyone of you guys is truely feeding a Type R 2kilowatts on a daily basis (there's difference between owning the amp, and pushing it), that really does not affect my view of its possible performance (good or bad).
i did?

I am?

I will?

Don't show clipping, don't keep it up for extended periods of time... your fine.

but it handles the power, wha is so hard 2 believe. i mean cmon now. if i said it was an sx, u guys would be like no doubt. the handles the power. 2000w, not 2000w amp. i mean we auctually tested the subs. my boy spkrman had an autotek m4000.1 on a single 12R and it handle it. did an 150.7. it took it no prob for burps. he had an viper2500.1 on single type r handle it daily. ran the amp @1ohm. bet u dont think the amp runs at 1ohm 2 huh. its not hard 2 believe. if u put a sub in the hands of a person that knows wha their doin, it can be done. dont knock it until u've tried it.

BAH... what are you talking about... internet assumptions are much more accurate than actual testing!

Type R handle 2000 watts? Who cares if I've actually done it.. means nothing! It says on paper that it wont, so damit it wont! My tests AND DAILY USE mean nothing, all that matters is what I read on the internet!

yea, forgot bout that, alpine and people on caraudio.com forums says it wont, so its must be true. betta sale my 2500ds and get 2 RE 12.1s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/waycrazy.gif.f4a380c3f94043939fd369defd9e6be2.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wallbash.gif.1310150c49dd52e0fbe1813a0681e5c3.gif

What kind of amp are you using?

was running a viper 2500d at 1 ohm... > 2000 REACTIVE watts to the woof, held fine.

Also ran the autotek mm4000, which was a lil more power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Right now an orion 2500d at 17 volts to a pair of 12's... they laugh at me and say GIVE ME MORE.

Does box design play a pretty big part? Yep... but there arent many woofers *period* that would withstand the torture I give these woofers.

Did I say you did? You are what? You will what? Huh? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

"Don't keep it up for extended periods of time" goes against my idea of "daily", which was my point, but to each their own definition. If you just want to argue because Im not praising the R (nor bashing it), dont bother. Thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The plural on that 2500 is what started me. I thought you were running 2 2500D's to 2 12" Type R's. .....I was like....nught Uh.!

Do you really need to hear a 150+ all day? I know I can't stand it... it gets old fast. Will the type R handle a 2000 watt burp for 24 hours? no... will dam near any woofer, no.

IF you want full tilt all day, sure, just drop the power down... but why bother when the sub CAN handle more for shorter periods... and its easier on everything if you have a 2000 watt amp putting out 800, as opposed to an 800 watt amp putting out 800.

If you daily drive with 2000 watts and you can even listen to it all day, your doing something wrong.
