XR's keep up with ported XXX?

Do you think a set of JL XR's with 100x2 on them would keep up with a XXX15 ported off a Orion 1200d for SQL/daily driving?

I'm just exploring options

Only other option is a CDT set, and I have no experience with CDT and I'm somewhat worried.

not sure about the jl's but the cdt hd-62's i'm selling (shameless plug) kept up great when i had my 15" DP. the DP was ported with a modded mtx 1501d on it running at .5ohm, doing low 140db's. they got plenty loud while staying extremely clean, with 200w going to them.

Cant afford two subs, so I'm staying with either a ported 15 or 18, depending on which I can find

As for the other gentlemen - The HD62 is teh set I'm considering

The JL Xr's is just a cheaper alternative, because if I get the HD62's I have to upgrade form a 4002 Orion to a 8002 Orion...more more more more more money lol

I think the Xr's SHOULD do fine but I'm not 100%

Yes they should keep up. Just give them a good clean signal and u should be good to go. Good luck!

But the cdt's would be better in my mind.

Also keep in mind, with the CDT's I have to spend a littel bit over 100 dollars more on the amp, plus the comps are a little over 100 bucks more

my motto is to always plan ahead. go for the bigger orion amp. all this loud music you'll eventually begin to deafen and you'll need to upgrade. but then you'll already have the head room.

u can get 2 xxx 10's 500 shipped if u know where to look. used horns 250. 2 orion 1200 400.

1300 overall. and u can get around upgrading the big E.

but hey boomin dont know shit i guess....

i myself would prefer 15"s over 10"s. 1 15" ported is all you need.

as for the comps. I've never heard those XR's b4, but i'm sure they'll keep up.

Do you want them to play 140dbs like your sub does? Do you really think any component set will be able to blend with 140dbs? Doesnt make sense to me. Yes, you will be able to hear them, its not hard to hear higher frequencies over low frequencies.

also you always just adjust the gains to match the highs and lows.
