WTF happened to my battery????

I just installed a 2nd yellow top in my trunk the other day. I was cruising around today and my music cut out and I smelt something burning so I stopped and opened my trunk. I come to find that my side terminal on my yellow top is melted... the wires that were connected to it were warm.

I did have a 2 battery setup for approx 4 months now but just recently I bought the second yellow top and installed it.

yea I have fuses on all the wires, one at the first battery ( which goes to the second battery), then from the second battery I have 3 wires all of them are fused.

no fuses were blown and they are all the correct fuse rating

since when do optimas need to be properly vented? I thought they were totally sealed batteries?

Wow. I would take that out and not use it until talking to optima asap.

thats weird as hell man, call optima and tell them to send u another batt for free, if under warranty lol
