A 150 db score isn't all that impossible with a single 8" woofer. Didn't Alan Dante break 150 with a single dd1508? It probably sounds like *** on music, but it can be done!

High 50's and 150 are two very different scores...

X2 gaining dbs gets harder and harder the higher you go. You had to have had a faulty meter or were measuring at the port

Funny thing...I'd NEVER compare a truck system to a hatch system. A hatch is like a dang megaphone where as a truck is like a big fluffy pillow.
HX2 8" in vented/tuned box on bd1500 in my truck did high 130s and low 140s. same exact amp, sub, and box in a '96 Eclipse was in the high 150s.

Trucks are acoustically challenged, period.

maybe on an epic 150 meter.

Are you talking about me with my sound off story? It was all fun and games...a truck can be louder than a hatch though but not 20db louder with the same setup sorry.

In the kick, with a hatchback, with a non-standard meter, it'd probably be possible. You'd gain a few in the kick, you get a major gain from the hatch, and the meter could read pretty easily 3db's higher than a new TL.

It's not necessarily an untrue story - but the actual event wouldn't be an actual measurement.

150db with an 8 is crazy lol and his setup isnt the same as mine. I did get to finally hear his stuff yesterdayy for the first time and it wasnt too bad. lol. His is louder at higher frequencies where mine is louder lower. It was dark ladt night so i didnt get and pics or vids, but he said he is gonna come back to the house after work today to get some. His is not as loud up high as mine is low. He might be doing mid 130s.

Heh, They say you can't get louder than 194, Our atmosphere won't alow for anything louder. I guess we will know soon enough the way they keep breaking the 180's. 190 will be here soon enough.

Yea, thats crazy. lol. I have a chart somewhere that shows the effects of spl on the human body and some other measurements.
