On any level this is wrong. A student sleeping with a minor student isn't acceptable. There is line of trust that a teacher or any other person in position of authority over a student should never cross. Lately several "women" teachers have been criminally prosecuted for inappropriate relationships, actions and betraying the trust that parents and the school board place in them. For years, male teachers have been prosecuted for the same actions but not highly publicized nationally. If my son was sleeping with his teacher, I'd seek a prosecution and ensure she's never allowed to have a direct influence over children that she wasn't a parent of. If my daughter was sleeping with her teacher, I'd chop his penis, tongue and fingers off and ensure he's never put in a position to betray a childs' trust.
Teachers should never betray the trust that is given to them to foster the minds of children.

It is just as wrong for a college professor to sleep with his/her student as well. They are educators and shouldn't be opportunistic parasites who latch onto an unsuspecting student in their class.

There is no jealousy involved when you are a parent and looking out for your childs best interest although they may not understand at the time. It sounds cool to the young male student to sleep with a teacher but that's just a fantasy that should remain that way. If a teacher respects his/herself, they won't even entertain the thought of sliding in bed with a CHILD.

I find it very problematic that you have a different set of standards for your daughter than your son.

That may be true. I find it wrong. It perpetuates problems with sterotypes, gender wage difference in the workplace, other sexist activities, etc. What do you think a 16 yo male is more mature, should be held more accountable, what? To say, I'd call the police in one scenario, and then say I would severely cripple someone in another is very sexist.

I just find it rather odd that we chose dates in which people are able to have the correct perspective on relationships. At 17 and 364 days, a young person is unable to determine the correct perspective, but at 18 years they are? I just find all kinds of problems with that.

It is stereotyping but it's more sexist toward the male and not the female. Men especially with their daughters put them on a pedistol just because of gender. If my 16 year old son was a good looking kid and getting older women etc. I would be happy for him that he was having a good time. On the other hand my 16 year old daughter i dont even know if i would want her dating... although i couldnt stop that but i would expect her to date around her age and for sure wouldnt want her having ***... I was a 16 year old once and I would have love to have slept with my 30+ year old hot teachers... So if my son was able to pull *** like that good for him... would I absolutely beat the living sh*t out of a 30 year old guy who is sleeping with my 16 year old daughter? I sure would.... Is it sexist? Maybe... Is it outright wrong? I think not.... It can't be too wrong if the majority of people feel the same way..

A majority of the people felt the earth was flat...which is wrong. A majority of the people thought the sun was the center of the universe, also wrong.

I am curious why you place females on a different plane than males? It seems to me like you are putting females down and indicating that they are less able to make rational decisons than males of equivalent age. Do you not see how perpetuating this belief that women are "inferior" in decsion making because when they sleep with an older man they are being taken advantage of, but when a male does it that are cool or something. I fail to find sound reasoning for this logic. I am sure the data indictates that females at the age of 16 are actually MORE rational than males. I do not believe all of them were "tricked", what I believe it is more of a function of desire for more mature men. Their current selection is limited.

Your missing the point... It's not a question of decision making its more along the lines of "what we expect from a male and female". If a 16 year old guy slept with a 30 year old teacher people (especially his friends) would praise him and envy him. If a 16 year old girl did the same thing she would be called a **** etc. and would not be accepted. That could really damage a girls life. Who a girl sleeps with and how many partners she's had etc. ruins her reputation for future dating and just how people view her in general as a person. I'm not going to go into if thats wrong or not it's just how it is. Knowing that I wouldn't want my daugters reputation being that of a **** or someone who slept with their teacher to get an A in class... If my son did it people would actually praise him instead of bash him. Quick story that reminds me of this and it just happened. Friend of mine (guy) has slept with well over 50 women. A girl he slept with came in his work and I saw her and she was pretty hot. I asked him about her and he mentioned "What!? She slept with everyone! She had at least 50 guys! shes a pig!" Thats just how it is. Right or wrong thats nto the issue. The issue here is what I would expect or want from my children... And YES gender makes a difference. Of course people thought the earth was flat... That example is bad though its totally different from the issue at hand here. People thought the earth was flat because they didnt kmnow any better and didnt have the technology to really know what shape the earth was... This issue there is no guess work.
