would you guys accept this for $130?

same day shouldnt mean it will be shitty. Most of my boxes are done in one day. I start in the morning and by the end of the day its done. However if its getting painted or covered it will be a little longer. If you know what your doing and are good with working with wood it shouldnt take to long for such a simple box.

I would just get some all thread brace the box and put some put in that crack instead of having to deal with him making you a new one.

Looks like a fairly legit fix, except I'm trying to figure where that crack comes from...But I don't see any problem with that box but you should NOT pay that extra $30 he charged to fix it, I would ask him for that back since he made the mistake.

I've made that same mistake before and told my guy straight up that I messed up the cut, let me double baffle it for ya and it'll be even stronger then before, and didn't charge him any more.

x2 as a builder if I mess up thats my fault and I pay for my mistake...same goes for any business

the crack comes from where he ****ed up the cut then had to move it over a bit and fill that part in.

That box doesn't seem like 2 sheets of mdf. Should of saved some money and done it your self. At the most paid him for a blue print. But that's just stating the obvious.
and its 2 sheets its thick as shit on 3/4ths of it.lol

Ask him were all your extra wood is. He could of at least double baffle the whole thing if he had enough wood left over. Which i'm pretty sure he does.
ya it didnt take no dam sheet for the whole top..

WOW!! Deff ask hem for the rest of your wood. Or tell him to double baffle the whole thing. I figure he finished the whole box, port included, but made the front first. Maybe forgetting about the port. So then he milks you for the charges for a whole sheet of mdf, And all he had to make is the front. He can easily wrap the box one more time with all the left over wood.
its gay cause if u go on this guys site, there is some quality shit on there and really nice boxes. and alot of people that signed on the little guestbook thing that he makes nice shit and i know he does

i think i just got unlucky

just live with it, re seal it and make sure you do a good job then who cares... It aint the worst looking thing on earth... also... who built it ? $130 for a box is not a bad deal at all, specially in 1 day.

I look at it like this...

Try it out

If it sounds good and is fine then live with it...

If it sucks then consider action...

way too many sac posters have been making me face palm here lately... When will we get something positive and good out of our town on this board!
