Would this be good sound deadener?

Well, I have decided to go with the spectrum. I think im going to buy a gallon of it and also get the spray gun. Hopefully I can do my whole trunk with a gallon of it.
Now, just waiting to get paid //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Anyone on here who had subs in their car and then added damplifier later? Did it make a huge diffrence? Improvement?
How much it helps depends on the car, the install, the listener, etc. Ive heard dramatic differences when installed, and Ive heard minimal increases. The key is to use it where you need it, and not where you dont. Does your trunk rattle alot? Where, exactly?

Yes, trunk lid.

I dont have alot of experience with trunk lids, but spraying it seems like a good idea so you can get it up between the panels. Carefully applied spray expanding foam to fill the voids first might be a good plan too, just dont buckle your sheetmetal.
buckle?

in other words dont spray so much that the metal expands when the foam dries
O ok, I understand. It's not necisarilly metal vibrating against metal. It's just like the metal is flexing so much that it causes the lid to make rattle noise. Im sure you understand what im saying, however, I was hoping that if I spray that stuff on there that it would thicken it up a bit and not cause the vibrating and help keep the sound in the cabin.

Also, I was hoping that if I did the whole trunk it would help make more of a tomb type affect and make the bass hit harder inside the car.

When you include shipping, its the same price as a gallon of Spectrum. Call Anthony at SecondSkin and see what kind of a deal he can work out for you on shipping. And then you'll know you have a product you can be confident with.
How do you know Ant isn't moonlighting as Roseann Barr on the weekends?

Ive got 7 rolls of peel n seal in my car, roof, floor, doors. 2 year now, had the headliner off last week and its just fine

Paid $100 or so, cheapest effective sound deadner there is in my opinion. No smell to me either when installing after an hour. Heat gun is a must for application though

lol, what?
That's the name of that eBay seller's store - which should be warning number 1. Number 2 is that they are located in Corry, PA - home of R-Blox, Sound Destroyer and many others as well as the former home of FatMat. As far as I can tell, it is a small town with a freakishly large number of sound deadener sellers who have yet to offer a decent product.

I'm sorry, but describing P&S as an effective sound deadener flies in the face of every thing we know about sound deadeners. The best that can be said is that it might be better than nothing and sometimes doesn't fall off. It is no more effective and much less reliable than duct tape. It's inexpensive when looking at the price/ft², but when calculating how much you will need to actually do a decent job it is more expensive than the most expensive butyl/foil product you can buy, will take a lot more work and add much more weight than needed. It's a mistake, pure and simple.

As a side note, Pwer-Mat was a decent product - 4 mil foil but very gooey adhesive - that was around for about 6 months, a few years ago. It was imported from Korea and didn't look anything like what's shown in that eBay ad. That stuff looks like R-Blox - asphalt w/ Mylar facing.

If you're dead set on painting or spraying on some sort of sound deadender, duplicolor spray on bed liner might work. You can get it at most automotive stores and is dirt cheap at like $6 a can. I don't know how well it would work but it would probably help a little bit.

Worse case scenario, it doesn't work and your out like $20. A couple cans should probably put at least a coat or two in a trunk.
