Would this be a decent entry level setup

I want to add a small subwoofer to my car.. a 1993 Subaru Impreza wagon. Currently I have a basic Pioneer HU, Alpine Type-S front speakers and Pioneer TSG-1641R rear speakers. No amps, and stock wiring.

I'm not looking to spend a whole lot. Hopefully around $400 or so.

Here's what I'm looking at so far..

MTX Single 10" sub enclosure - $55

Kicker 10" CompVR Subwoofer

• 10" subwoofer

• 800 watts peak power

• 25Hz - 500Hz

Sony ZR Series Amp

Basically I'm just wondering if this seems like it would be a decent small setup for my car.

And is it the right amp for the sub? I figure if I bridge the amp it will have close to 400 RMS and 800 peak which will match the requirements of the sub. Does that seem right?

No thats not a decent setup for 400 dollars, go on ebay and get a 10 inch Re sub for 100 dollars with free shipping, and get a kicker 400.1 or something similar, and get a prefab box if you dont know how to build one or ask someone on here to build you one, SONY IS JUNK, that Kicker sub isnt too bad tho..

1 RE SE (whatever size) for $160 or so shipped off of ebay, and an amp that'll do 600-900wrms at whatever impedence you need in the classifieds for like $100

Audioque 1200 watt amp does rated power is $250 get a 12 or 15" SD2.5 and build a ported box, or get one made locally.

Get a 10" Alpine type R and a Kicker zx500.1 all that should run you about 300 dollars.

No.

That box sucks, it can be had for $15. That amp sucks, you can do much better for the same price. Sub is ok, but you can do better.

I agree with the others above, except I would also squeeze a 2 channel amp (to power your door speakers), a good wiring kit into that budget and some door deadeing material.
