I have very carefully calculated the net volume at 1.609 cubic feet. My port is an octo with 2 inch internal sides so 19.3 sq inches of port with 1/2 inch roundovers on both ends. Length is 24.5 inches and part of the port has a common wall with the corner of the box so maybe a slight end correction factor.
I think my tuning is 34 hz. Customer contacted me the other day and tells me his frieds are saying it should be louder. He's using 2 CT tropo 8s with, i think a 500 watt amp. Ive seen a video of them playing and they look to move just fine and by his description the port velocity is okay. He asked me if the subs were 'unloading'. A term he must have picked up off of his friend. I explained to him what that meant and said i doubt it. Not only is is recommended volume but the back of the box is like 2 inches from the motor. Im thinking maybe my tuning is low, like really low. But maybe i did my math correctly. Can someone check for me? Thank you.
